I'm going to pick up my own helmet before the suby event, because I have an aversion to rental helmet stinkage and I want one that fits.

Can anyone recommend a local place for selection and price?

I got mine from Discovery Parts. They had a shop on PIB, but I think that they've moved out of it to build a new shop. I don't know if they're in their new digs. Try discoveryparts.com.

I don't think so as long as your not racing the car in Nascar or anything. this helmet should be fine for autocross and draging, I have used it in SCCA events with no issues and at Drag strips that require helmets. You can get these helmets in different colors also just go look in walmart in the auto department.

Im not sure about drag but scca auto-x reqires you to have a snell MA or SA rating I think is has to be MA2000, SA2000 or newer(could be wrong about the year) and from what i understand for track you are required to have an SA rated helmet, hopfully someone more knowledgeble will chime in on this

    Hope this helps:)

for autocross, you definatly have to have a snell rated helmet.
i believe that it has gone up to 2005 now, but i am not 100% sure on that.

I'm pretty sure these helmets are Snell rated I think it says it on the helmet packaging.
