that is some nice pics Steven! hey maybe i can meet up with ya sometime and get some pics of our cars together since u only live min's from me.
you guys suck :wtc: cause your cars are way above my level :end hating: lol im kiddin both of you get mad props from me! keep up the good work
great pics!!! The passion isn't always about numbers but style-design, and I'm glad that we have so many members that don't lose sight of that...both excellent examples!!!!
nice night shots, man. did you use just the available light or did you have lights/strobes with you? the color of the parking lot lights are so white. usually they have a green tint to them. JW, i like long 30 sec. exposures. only way to shoot a car.
Thanks man. I used the available light, but adjusted the WB to correct for the green tint. If you saw one of the practice shots I took, it looks really green. I also bracketed my exposures and then layered them in PS. I had just recently received my remote, so I had been wanting to go out and shoot some long exposures.

I cant wait. I went to Battleground today and picked up some Meth. Is Meth odorless, or is it just me?
ok, i got a few more questions about the shoot. and i'm asking because i have a D20 i won from a road & track contest last year. anywho, photoshop WB or the camera's WB? i've never messed with the camera's WB settings, because i use PS for every good image to make it better, ya know. did i read elsewhere you're using nikon? PM me if you ever want to go out shooting again and need help. i have tons of cameras and a lighting kit we can mess with. kind of what i do for a living.
That's pretty cool you won a camera! I adjusted it in camera, on site because I was not shooting raw so I couldn't adjust it later. PS is probably a better way of doing things because you have a full size picture to look at while you adjust it instead of the little one on the back of the camera. I am actually using a canon 350d. We definitely need to get together, that would be a blast!
I wish I could have made it out with you guys. If your monitor isnt calibrated in PS shooting in raw and adjusting might actually hurt you as far as how it looks on someone elses monitors. Adjusting white balance while at a shoot should be one of the first things you do in my opinion when I get ready to do a shoot. First white balance, then exposure, then composition. Pro photographers take very little time on the post processing bench. Capture the shot in person, resize and be done with it. :coolugh: I used very little post processing in these photos, and set the white balance at the shoot. Some slight color balance adjustment was all that was need to warm the photos a tad bit. http://www.undergroundcove.com/nemesis/alex.htm
if you guys do decide to meet up and do a photoshoot sometime I'd definitely like to tag along and get a better understanding of digital photography from you guys.....
Yeh, we definitely need to set something up. It may be easiest to get more people together nopi weekend. I know some people have done photo shoots over there around the airfield next to ams and stuff like that.
i'm a PS whore. i can and rather make all my adjustments on my mini. the color/levels algorithm in PS are just some much precise and controllable. i still can't get the D-Max i like with in-camera adjustments. things come out too dark over all and sometimes the ink levels are far over 300%. i might be doing something wrong, but i just set the WB to auto :sx: and figure it out in PS. i like to spot adjust different areas of each image.
