plan to upgrade the springs only for now on my 92x Tein H techs (lowering the front about 1-1/4" and back .9") I know the struts will get additional beating from this springs . How long can i expect the struts to hold up (approx) for a daily driver with no track time.
I've had just springs with stock struts on my car for the past 2 years with zero problems, never tracked my car either. That's been about 25k miles. Craig
I used the Eibach's Prokit for about 20k as well with stock struts. I also autox'ed on them a lot. There is no real issue with it. If you were going with the ground controls or something that has an enormous spring rate, there could be a problem. I would definitely suggest getting some struts in the future though, only because it makes the car handle so much better than just springs. The car will still roll A LOT with just springs.
65k on my stock struts with whiteline lowering springs. My car sits pretty low. I have to drive up on a couple of boards just to get a jack under it. I have had no issues with the stock struts.
I also have the Hotchkis Sways (like the tubular design) and perrin Endlinks to help with the roll. thanks So what struts and shocks would you guys recommend for a daily driver
one issue i read about when i was lowering my car was that u are also putting more stress on the axles... i have had no axle related problems... has anyone else had problems?
No problems with the axles. It may help to get some rear camber bolts also. The lowering will give you more understeer because it will increase the negative camber back there. I would definitely suggest the KYB AGX or the Tokico D spec's. Both are a great combo to any spring you stick on them. They have a really nice soft setting and their hard is great for autox.
:eek3: Do you have any trouble with such a low stance over speed bumps and just city driving in general?
