Guys, really want a front lip for my STI.... I've found them on Sakarimotorsports.com, mauromotorsports.com and a couple other sites in the $5-600 price range shipped. This is a little steep for me so I looked on ebay and found this for $300

I think it looks pretty sweet, never really dealt with ebay/paypall... what do you guys think?

$300.00-ish shipped for a lip style that runs up to $500 seems legit, and The auction is from a guy with high feedback.

I'd still go ans spot-check the guys feedback and actually click on some of his auction links and se what he typically has sold.

Its lookin like a go.... I REALLY like how it looks on that white one, I think it'll look great on the WRB as well. I read some of the feedback on the vendor and its all positive. Does anyone know a good shop that would do this type of install? It should be pretty easy, but I know there's drilling involved and wouldn't want to F it up.

Received the lip from fastwrx.com... Shipping was fast but it arrived with a quarter sized chunk missing off the very front. The box was large enough and didn't seem damaged but there was zero insulation(peanuts/bubble wrap) to protect it. It also it didn't come with any instructions or fastners to put the damn thing on... I emailed them this am, still waiting for a response. They have a polyurethane lip for the same price, I think I'm going to tell'm to send me that one. The fiberglass seemed very flimsy.. updates to follow...

Forgive my ignorance (the only thing I have modded in recent history was my last couple of PCs ;) ), but other than looking pretty sharp, what does adding a lip do to the front end (if anything?). :)

aerodynamically, i believe its supposed to add downforce in the front.... but i think most of the lips u get are primarily for style

Ahh..I just wondered. That one from RavSpec looks really nice.
I'll add that to my mental book of Modding knowledge (so far there is one entry).

    Thanks

Update... Just talked to mach V again about the broken lip they sent me. They were very helpfull and are sending me a new lip and getting UPS to pick up the broken one. I went with the Polyurethane one instead of the fiberglass, hopefully this one won't break! Plus he told me this one uses the bolts allready in place on the bumper rather than the fiberglass which you have to drill holes.
As far as actual added downforce, I doubt it'll help in my daily driving... I just bought it cuz it looks cool as hell, it really sets off the WRB..

Will do... I also bought a black STI bumper plate to cover up those nasty holes in the front bumper of fastwrx.com... I'll be putting pics up of the new ride when the lip gets on there....

Ok guys, forgive the crappy camera phone pics... but here's some pics of the new ride with the front lip / sti bumper plate installed... Turns out the poly-urethane lip was different than the fiberglass one(notice the wings that flare up on the ends toward the wheelwell). Don't like it as much as the jdm style, but its growing on me. Like I said, I'll get better pics with a digital and minus all the bird poop when I get a chance....

Sorry but are your fenders molded into you bumper? That looks absolutely seemless in the pictures.

Not sure I understand your question crash... The lip is held on by fasteners and an adhesive strip if thats what you mean.

I bought one through ravspec and was extremely dissapointed with the fitmet and quality.

Thanks Alex, still gonna work on it some more. Theres a little bit of a gap in some places, gonna try either to use some body tape or maybe drill a couple holes to put to more fasteners in there somehow to snug it up.

Was it the CF one or the FG one? Mine is CF and it is nearly perfect??

Maybe it is just the angle or a trick of the light, but it looks like your front bumper cover and your fenders have no seam....looking at other pictures of STI's there is a definite seam there. Not between the splitter and the bumper, but the bumper and the fenders. I thought maybe you filled it or something for a smoother look.
