Anyone want to do the hwy129 loops on the 27th? Let me know in a PM if you want to attend the mountain run on the 27th and I wil start a list in this post. Meeting time: 10:00am Location: Wal-Mart in Dahlonega (back of the parking lot) As far as the poll goes, it looks like the start time will be around 10:00am Sunday Morning. There were 6 votes, but only one has confirmed with me, so if you want to go for sure let me know so we don't leave you Sunday morning. People Attending GPJamesMVT Demo24 Eric-RPS13-
I may be up for going. I'm getting my car tuned on Tue. It will be my first time back up there since I got the 2.5 in.
Time is still debatable... I know some people will be going to church, so I was thinking about maybe getting there about 1:00 or 1:30. If a better time is suitable, just let me know...
We've been heading up there the past few weekends/months on Sunday (family mini-runs lets say)......Going to B'Fast at the IHOP across from the OutletMall about 8:30am and leaving "north" by 9:30am. Ran most of the various routes and heading back down by 1pm. Traffic was not bad at all.............but...........come noontime the traffic picked up considerably, especially the motorcycle groups. Made sure that near any of the churchs or housing areas we keep it quite and there were no complaints. (also being very respectful of the cyclists).
Shoot me a PM if you head out some weekend. Been a while since I have been up there . ditto to the cyclist... respect specially since we have some on the boards here
Keith.....Sure will. Usually its a last minute thing on Saturday (or late Friday) if we know the weather is gonna be somewhat nice. This weekend probably not because Robert and "da wif" are working late Saturday. (3weekends ago went up to Amilcalola, then up to Ellijay--->Morganton--->Down Rt60 to Suches-->yadda yadda yadda......... didnt care for the section between ellijay to morganton at all. Probably nice in the Fall and thats about it)
Yes, its supposed to be AM instead of PM. Also, if you are sure that you want to go, send me a PM Everyone needs to have 2-way radios, and I'mm have some of the maps printed out from the sticky thread
no shit, you guys have maps and radio's now. Thats so dope! I cant wait to come home now. It sounds like a convoy security mission. Maybe we can get real high tech and get scanners like the fast and the furious!
I may be interested in going. However if it's raining, then I'm not gonna go. I don't wish to find my car's traction limit in the rain on a mountain. Not sure if I have a radio. Will have to check and see if I can get it to work.
Wal-mart has some really cheap 2-way radios. Its just good to have so the people in front can warn everyone behind of bicyclists, slow groups, popos, or whatever else may come up. We don't want a big pileup...
Rules of the Road specially since most of you probably have wrxatl stickers on your cars. http://www.wrxatlanta.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2836
Definately! On a side note, if anyone has a couple extra WRXAtlanta stickers, I'd like to buy them off of you....
yeah, radios def. help... especially when you're stuck behind someone that is looking at the scenery.
I do need some though. if someone gets into some trouble and I have a sticker for the club I'm with, I'll make sure they are ok, if they are, I'm off. If they are not, I bring a razor blade and loose the sticker and turn into a nice person that saw it happen.
I'm in the Sardis area if you know where that is, between Gainesville and Dawsonville on hwy53. I'll just take hwy60 all the way up. Are you planning on joining us?
so your on the north end? Sorry I have no idea where Sardis is. I'm off of exit 12. As of right now I think I will join you, unless something happens in the next 2 days that changes things. Forecast looks ok.
yeah I'll meet up with ya. Where and what time? I don't know exactly where you get on 60. I will get on after I get off 985 on exit 24(?).
where would I meet up? and also I meant I need some wrxatl stickers I got a semi good radio already, just no sub channels
Keith Im well man, trying to get back to the house so i can buy a new car and chase you all through the mountains.
Eric, I will caravan with you if you'd like...I just need directions...Maybe we could get some breakfast also... Mark
i dont mean to jinx anything but last last time i went there, i lost my car... it took me a while to find a tow truck especially with limited cell phone reception... here's a number EVERYONE who goes up there should keep handy... hope nobody needs to use it Turpin's Wrecker Service: 706-896-4138
