These are for performance so I'm putting this here. Got some louvres installed in the hood today. And I'm looking to get the hood repainted soon. But I need 2 things: 1) some kind of dividers to direct airflow under the hood how I want 2) IR thermometer, probably ordering one of these tonight to track improvements Here's what I think know: 1) air comes in past radiator 2) high pressure air @ bottom of windshield, so most air leaving thru bottom of engine compartment 3) louvre scoops bringing air to air filter 4) louvre vents extracting hot air from both sides of the back of the hood 5) The dividers need to keep the filter air coming strictly from the intake louvres. 6) May need another divider to make sure the turbo is getting cooling air and venting hot air out extractors (and not heating the tmic) Thoughts?
It's looking pretty ghetto right now cause the paint had to be stripped where the louvres were stamped in. Not very picturesque...
Whenever you are ready to switch to a Reverse Hood Scoop let me know. I will buy your STI Hoodscoop. Oh yeah, lets see some pics.
Pics Pics Pics Pics Pics You get the idea? Who cares what it looks like now. It'll be better to show pics before you get it painted so that we can see exactly what is involved.
I took pics late last night. I'll post them when I get home tonight. Or just look for the WRB STi on Roswell Rd with the missing paint.
Interesting design, but it looks like a gorilla nose and I don't care for that shade of yellow. Plus I want to pull heat out at the back of the hood. I haven't bought the IR thermometer yet so no real results yet. It's been non-stop drama for several weeks now. Polybutylene pipes broke & flooding the basement, kids back to school, 1 has minor surgery coming up, meth pump leaking, need to paint the hood, selling stock parts, company bought out by IBM, parts need installing on motorcycle, 3 weekends of driving events coming up, etc, etc, etc. Anyone want to be my personal assistant?
