For all of you that don't venture into the motorsports threads (since there is a sticky over there), this is the ultimate subaru g2g!! Basically you pay a small fee ($30) to enter, which you end up getting back in free stuff. Tons of subarus, giveaways, and auto-x. If you have not registered yet, get on the ball and do it!! We need about 30 more entrants before the end of the month or this event will be cancelled. It is at Gwinnett County Fairgrounds October 7th. www.subaruchallenge.com Spread the word....this event must not be cancelled! Tell all your friends, yell to the subaru driver next to you in traffic, you get the picture.
I should hope they don't cancel!! I already paid good money. Join up folks. The cash is to compete/run your car around the track. This is fun, a safe setting, CHEAP and you can push the limits of your car a bit!
to compete i don't know anything about the possibility of cancellation but i would encourage everyone to register ASAP regardless... its less than a month away and they need to know how many shirts and giveaways they need for the event... this is the ULTIMATE subaru g2g... and its sooooo much fun for more information, please click the link in my signature
I find it hard to believe that they would cancel the event?!?! There are always so many people who pay the day of the event...at least it seems that way.
I believe what eyeballs is trying to say is, they will not cancel this event, but if they can not fill registration, they will not be back here again next year, or possibly any time in the future.
I heard if we do not hit 100 entrants by the end of the month it will be cancelled. There is a thread in nasioc SE about it.
http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/showpost.php?p=15154486&postcount=33 not sure if it is true. I will PM RR and ask him. -- Brian
how can any subaru owner call themselves a subaru owner if they havent registered yet. seriously people. i had more fun at this event 2yrs ago than any event i have ever attended. plus the free stuff. got backpacks chok full of stuff before. cant wait to see what they have in store for this year.
^^^^Oh, I get it. Gainesville Flordia....^^^^^ I just signed up. It's going to be my first AutoX... :wiggle: If I'm going to do this, you can too! If you haven't signed up yet, do it NOW you sissy! So who wants to take me for a ride in their STI???
To be signed up I'll be signing up tomorrow or after midnight once payday's deposited, to run my stock WRX around the track (well, I HOPE I'll stay on the track  ) -Curtis
thats why im not going. gator growl touchdown terrace tix and 35yrd line 18th row behind our bench for the game. plus i dont own a suby right now.
I am hoping that it won't....So we need 30 more people by the end of this month...that should be a cakewalk... Mark
I PM'd Randy, and they are making the decision Friday... so if you want to go and haven't signed up, do it now! Also, remember that you can run 2 people per car in the same class, so if you have a friend that wants to go, you can have them co-drive you car We will probably have 3 people driving Mere's car, as to fill up more spots. -- Brian
will register, as for classes, are they really enforcing the SCCA solo rules? Or can I register for whatever I feel is adequate? I'm a total auto-x knoob but the car is far from stock, I thought it would be nice to have a novice class similar to regular auto-x events since I'm going in with stock suspension with upgraded turbo, the turbo puts me out of many less competitive classes. I know it's all for fun but it would be nice to actually learn something rather than getting slaughtered in one of the top classes. So that's the reason for asking.
If you have a bunch of mods, just register for SM, as that is pretty much a catch-all class. It is also the largest class for the event, so you can simply compare yourself to people with similar mods. It is a very novice friendly event, so don't worry if you don't have much or any autoX experience. As for the class strictness, they will be comparing people by the class index (PAX) for the Super Star challenge, so it is best to pick the right class for your car. -- Brian
just confirming my availability in me calender and then i'll sign up, it's gonna be my first ever autocross hnoes:
Hey I might be at that this year.. need to meet up. (i dont like you all, but UF homecoming is awesome)
Its true I got the email today also :crying: but I may go to the one in Fla. if the reg. money can be used for that instead.
I got an email the other day saying that it was canceled and I would be getting a check in the mail... What a pisser. Andy
I say we gather around and enter a regular SCCA auto-x event hosted at Gwinnett fair ground or turner field.
there is also an autocross down here in savannah on the 24th of this month...if anyone is feeling the urge and wants to head this way.
