They're bein sold on here for a nice price, just want to know if it's a good choice. or 17s for that matter, which are also bein sold on here. I need a new set of tires anyways, both sets come with the rims as well. Wanna keep the money in the family ;)

17's are a better option if you do hard driving. If this car is just for show, then 18's are a better choice.

I dunno....I drive the piss out of mine on 18's and it sticks like you would not believe. I have yet to even screach a tire even up in the mountains...mine is just stock suspension with 18's and eibach springs. Tires are toyo proxes. Take that for what it is worth.

It's really more of a personal preference thing. 18s will have less sidewall on the tires so you'll have a slightly rougher ride and it'll be more likely that you curb or scrape a wheel. Like clemson said, if it's for go, you'd probably be better off with 17s. If you're more concerned about the cars appearance, go 18s. But you definitely still drive hard with 18s....now 19s...

I am not saying that 18's don't handle. What I will say is I have seen peoples rims scrape the concrete autox'ing on 18's. This goes back to the tire pressure thread. If you want to reduce the chance of your 18's scratching the pavement, then you have to increase the tire pressure. Increasing the tire pressure increases the wear and reduces the life. I have nothing against larger wheels for show or brake clearance.

if you're keeping the same overall radius (axel to tread), then 18s will give you less sidewall=less sidewall flex=harder cornering. that's not to say 17s will fall far short. they ride just fine and corner just fine. i've felt both, and i just feel the 18s feel a bit sharper i went with 18x8 forged and couldn't be happier. what is important to keep in mind though is your rotational mass. the bigger the wheel, the more mass, which means you will notice that your acceleration and braking suffers a bit, most notably in performance applications. this is solved by better pads, bigger brake sets, and more torque. but it is something to keep in mind.

also worth mentioning is that i have a stiff suspension setup (coilovers, heavy sways, heavy bushes, heavy endlinks). i dont' find the ride unbareable, but it's not for everyone.

Mine just happened to come with the 18's on it. I think if I were considering a switch, I would go with 17's for the exact reason Monk suggested...rotational mass. But, since they are on there already, I just can't see taking them off to replace them with another wheel...plus 18's DO look nice and they handle just fine.

yea i did read a whole thread about tire weight that i just recollected. But I've also seen larger diameter rims with a lot less weight, but ya sure do pay for that. are WRX's all the same bolt pattern from '03+?
