I am hoping to get a v7 sti gauge cluster but had a question about the mileage differences and what will happen if you have emmissions done and the mileage is less. Anyone here swapped for either a v7 or v8 gauge cluster?

But even doing that, your mileage would be off, more mileage than what is showing, and they may see that as foul play. Didn't Weapon have an STI Cluster for a bit?

as long as te milage doesnt go down you dont have an issue, as long as you report the correct milage when you sell the car. its only a fellony if you try and sell it with a false odometer reading.

yea just pop the old one in whneyou have any kinda of work done. I dont have to deal with emissions. Just remember to write down the number of Km that started on the JDM cluster so later on you can do the math if needed

I don't want to have to keep switching stuff out. If thats the only way then it's not worth the hassle.

the STi cluster is awesome but the only way you can have it corrected is by having the new cluster reflashed with your current mileage/kilometers or just write down what the starting km reading is so you can keep track of it that way. I would swap the original cluster back in for any service/emissions though. Like emstrauma said it only takes like 5 minutes to swap it. 2 screws for bazel, 5-6 screws for the cluster and 3 plugs on the backside.

I wanted to put v8 sti cluster as well, but

#1 Amber/red color doesn't really match with rest of green tone interior lights of WRX
#2 Didn't want to mess up with keep switching. Plus didn't wanted to cause any misunderstanding from future buyers.
#3 Didn't give me enough WHP to justify $$$ :wiggle:

    .

i have a jdm sti cluster from an 02 in my 02, just recorded the original mileage then the current kilo's on the display, subtract that from what i have on it today. divide by 1.609 and add that number to the mileage on the old cluster

p.s. the 02 sti cluster is green
