Has anyone tried the Blinder M-20 Laser Jammer?
I was thinking of trying it out, along with a RX-65 detector and Viel coating you put on your head lights.
Let me know if anyone has tried any of these products.

I have the M20 and a Escort X50. The X50 doesn't do too much about laser, but it's incredible against police that don't turn off their radar. "Instant on" radar is still your biggest problem. That and cops that pull numbers out of thier ass and hand you a ticket for it...

The M20 is legal to use, but keeping a hypocrite from doing his job isn't. It's not anywhere near as big as a fine as using a radar jammer, but it's probably not cheap. Radar jamming is a Federal violation. My M20 works great, but it hasn't saved me any money yet. The times I've been hit I wasn't speeding or saw the jack-off before he could get me. My only complaint is that it doesn't help for rear laser detection, and it's LOUD beeeeeep when you start the car. I wish more cops had laser guns. I'm not worried about them anymore. Now all I'm worried about it that "Instant-On" radar and pacing in an unmarked car.

Don't forget, even if it's innacurate, when you get a ticket smile and be nice. Take it to court and the prosecutor will lower it to 14 over and it won't go on your record. They just want your money. If you're rude to the cop they write on the ticket "do not reduce" and the prosecutor will screw you too. The prosecutor won't help you for "racing" or 25 over or more, but you shouldn't be racing or going that fast anyway!

Please try and remember that we have a few friendly officers on our forum. We have all dealt with highway patrol or county officers on the highway that we have not liked, however, this does not necessarily constitute that every officer is the same way. Sure some are a bit over zealous but others Ive run into have been friendly and moderately understanding (officer, I was about to get cut off by a semi and I had to accelerate to not get squished). There are certain counties which are "notorious" for bad behavior and some which are "praised" for their lieniency.

Nevertheless, at the end of the day, you should not speed and expect never to be caught. I am rather opinionated on the issue of patrolling highways versus police involvement in cities but that is neither here nor there.

WRXatlanta is community for everyone (including the 5-0). While we will never tell you your opinion is incorrect, we do value diplomacy in the choice of words within your response.

With that said, please continue the discussion :D

Is the instant on radar the same as POP radar? And how long have you had the products, do you have the latest versions?

If you don't have a Sonic Yellow WRX you can't understand why I have all this knowledge and equipment.

I have the current versions. I've had the X50 for a year....? It's a MUST have. Go buy one tonight! If they're driving around with radar on I'll pick them up around a corner and over a hill. Sometimes it will go off for 2 miles before I pass a speed trap on the freeway. The M20 for... 4 months? It will pay for itself someday. Oh yes...it will.

POP is similar, but not really. POP will measure every car that passes with a low strenght K band on-off-on-off-on-off... you can detect this easily with an X50. Instant On is a K or Ka band radar that can be instantly turned on. For example, I'll be driving with the flow of traffic. The cop picks my yellow kid-car out of the heard and as I pass hits the button, instantly turning on the radar unit and getting my speed. My X50 goes nutts as he turns around to give me a ticket. Or you're driving along and he's coming head-on over a hill. When you crest the hill he hits the button and instantly gets your speed. It's the same as laser only it works in all conditions, at all angles, as he's driving, is ready at all times, can't be jammed, and is in every police car. If he's driving along he'll have to see you and be kinda close. If he sees you you can see him too. If it's an instant on speed trap you're F'ed becasue he's primed and ready in a hiding spot. Just don't speed more than 14. I have all this stuff because I'm waiting for the "big one." Some day I'll fall into one of those Construction AND School 25MPH Zones on a streach of freeway in East Jesus while I'm crusin' at 75...

    First purchase- Escort 8500 X50
    Second purchase- Blinder M20

Thanks, I will be making the purchase soon along with the Veil coating for the head lights. If it saves me 2 tickets, it will be paid for. I just have a hard time letting the money go for that.

I gotta admit that Alex is right. These guys are doing a hard job. When I lived up in New Jersey, I tried to hide from them, but I also respected the fact that they kept the roads reasonable. There have been times I wished there were more patrollers here.

My wife keeps talking me out of using my old radar detector. She's a good spirit.

I moved here from New Jersey about 15 years ago. When I lived up there, I just expected that the radar would flip on when they saw me. It was a cat-and-mouse kind of thing.

When I moved down here I couldn't believe how little of it I saw. The radars were always on and never moving. Evidently, the locals have changed since then.

For what it's worth, I sort of regretted the lack of enforcement when I moved here. In Jersey, you could move briskly but there was none of the madness that I've gotten used to on 85 or 285. In the firist few years after I moved here, there was an enforcement action on 285 when they brought troopers from other parts of the state to help. I remember reading in the paper that they had to brief the troopers on safety because people were going to be cutting them off in traffic! I couldn't believe it.

I need to get one only for GA400. With this construction going on for the next year or so, the limit dropping to 55 is killing me. I've been here 8 years going 78mph on 400(in the 65mph area), so now trying to go 65 ish is really hard.
I'm glad this thread was started. I'm either going to get the Escort SR7 or Valentine 1 with the hidden display. The SR7 is around $800 installed and the V1 is around $500 with/out install. I think will be well worth it in the long run, especially with my 400 situation. Anyone have any reviews on these 2??? I'm leaning towards the SR7 because the detecter will be in your bumper area. I figure when cops aim there laser at you, there aiming there, not the top of your windshield. Plus there's nothing in your window for would-be theives...

I have read many reviews on www.radarbusters.com and www.radarbusters.com. I think the bel rx65 or escort 8500 x50 would be a better value for the money, and to take care of laser, get the Blinder M20 jammer. This would put you at the $800 mark. When a laser hits you radar detector it's too late, you need the jammer. And for $80 you should get the Veil coating for you head lights. I think this is what I am leaning towards. I just hate spending money for this kind of stuff when I have been wanting to give my car to Sog & realy make it fun.

Looked at shifters 2... The blinder seems very similar to escorts ZR3 laser shifter. The SR7 model I was refering to also comes in a SR7+ which basically adds the ZR3 and about $400 bucks bringing that total up to $1200... Seems to me that laser shifter might get you in some trouble. If your riding with no other cars around you and the cop can't get a lock on you, It' be obvious your jamming and he'd pull you just 4 that... The guy at the store says you have around 3 seconds to slow down and turn the jammer off so the cop can lock on you. Sounds like it wouldn't be very affective...

Oh and don't forget the stealth paint to match!! Seriouly, you would be better off painting your vehicle flat black than these products. I saw some pretty amazed faces in my time...But waste your cash if you want. Do you really think modern lidar and radar is going to be fooled:rofl:

Oh and then there is enforcement from plane...ya not gonna fool em guys. Just keep it reasonable on the streets. Hell Georgia law already gives you 9 mph except for with state patrol or pacing.

City streets yes.... GA400 no. Tell me your going anywhere 55mph... You'd get run over!!!

Nope, not 55 on the spot, but I rarely go over 9 over....I like having my insurance under $75 a month for full coverage!!

Its rough, but after a few tickets you begin to realize 9 over isnt so bad anymore.
