I have an '06 STi and its time for some new pads already... I want good pads, but not any harder than the rotors since they're so expensive to replace. What are some good pads?

im running the carbotech panther plus pads and i love them... they are louder than stock and dust more but bite soooo hard... if anyone tries to hijack my car, all i need to do is speed up to 80 and slam the brakes to break his head on the windshield ... ask mattprzy about them

You should get the first replacement set for free, as it is a wear item. Go talk to SOG. You probably only need fronts, as the rears don't wear nearly as fast. For my wife's car, we are on our forth set of fronts, but only the 2nd set of rears, and this is in 30k miles.

Also, register for the Subaru Challenge and show your support for the Atlanta community. It won't look good for us if they cancel the event...

I'm looking into getting the carbotech panthers as well for my fronts. It's time... I can't really seem to find a decent place to get them on the internet! :( I looked around and found that they sell four about $200. Can they be found for any less?

Also are there any other comperable brakes for slightly less? I'll probly end up getting the carbotechs from what i've read but curious...

Well, nevermind i guess. I Just ordered the panthers for 198... Seems like they don't get any cheaper than that... Can't really wait any longer to get pads... Noticed the brakes were about as thick as a credit card when i put my new tires on the other day...

Stay away from the HPS though.

    ^^ No, I don't sorry.

I found that the Hawk's worked very well for me with my other car and have stuck with them since.

If I break away, I'll be moving to some Pagid pads.

I have been thinking about the Pagids too. Haven't seen any reviews, but then again, I haven't really looked seriously.

Ditto on the HP+. I put them on my Cobra for Panoz Track Day and I was ALL smiles when I was stabbing the brakes (especially going into 10a). They never faded even after all the repeated high speed stopping.
