Just saw that the new Pontiac Solstice is coming out with a 2.0 turbo with 260 hp/260 torque. I had heard it was going to be supercharged, so I was pretty surprised to see the turbo go on instead! Pretty peppy for a little 2 seater. I am curious to see what they come out for it in terms of mods. Pontiac is already offering cat back and intakes for them.

The Saturn copy of the solstice (Sky Redline) is getting the same turbo as well.
Should be pretty awesome little cars.

It basically an Opel platform, not lotus. Still, should be one heck of a car for the price. There are rumors of a lower priced BMW roadster slotted under the Z4 and being called a Z2. The rumors go on to state that it may eventually end up with a 300hp engine and be lighter than a Miata (which is already lighter than the solstice...)

Disappointed in the weight, personally. You'd think a roadster like that would weigh less than ~3000.

Other than that, nice job on it.

"The Solstice does pay a price for its first-rate chassis structure - weight. With a base curb weight of 2860 pounds, it outweighs its competition by several hundred pounds, and options and amenities can add more."

Is that for the GXP? The # I saw quoted was like 2980 lbs for it.

I have to say before my Mustang I was always a GM guy...old GM like 63 Nova SS, 72 Skylark Suncoupe, 68 firebird, and cars I didn't own like the old 66 GTO, 60's vetts, etc.
