Hi- Another newbie here. I've loved the WRX for years and finally got one ( 06 STI ) in late june. Heard about this board this past weekend at an event of Georgia Tech folks driving around up in the mountains. We live up in Alpharetta and always wave and chuckle when we see another WRX. The first time it happened ( on the way back from the dealership the day we got it ) it was a shock when another STI rolled down his window and waved... The shock has worn off, but the community feeling is great. We're still stock for now, but I think we are going to go with some "Go" mods for more fun in the mountains. Hi all!

Ped invited me on a mtn run in July '05 and from then on, I was hooked. I met alot of you guys on the mtn runs I went on last year (July, Aug, Oct) - and those were an absolute blast. I was in my R32 on those runs. Those mtn runs really made me wish I had bought the '05 STi I was looking at when I bought the R. Oh well. Maybe, I'll end up getting one someday. I've finally decided I can part with the R, but I don't think I can let go of the Cobra - and that's probably the only way I'll get into an STi...
Welcome! All you have to do to get rid of the Cobra is ride in some of the guys putting 400 awhp around a twisty track.
That probably would do the trick. Haven't been in one that powerful, but I have driven/ridden in a 300awhp STi. I kind of (re)fell in love with rear wheel drive at the the last track day though. Surprisingly, the Cobra outhandled the R at Road Atlanta. I never could get a handle on the massive understeer on the R. I think my plans are to sell the R and continue to modify the Cobra. Wouldn't be surprised if I end up with an STi one day though.

The stang is running good - Ped helped me with some suspension/brake work last month and it made a HUGE difference. Now I just need a supercharger so my V8 can keep up with some of these turbo 4's. The R is good too, but after it got spanked by the Cobra at Road Atlanta, I'm seriously thinking of selling - especially while the market is still good.

I went and did a test drive today at SOG and Mike was very good. My finances are almost set so I'll be making a decision within a month. I think I'll be getting a 2006 WRX limited. Welcome Russell. Come out to some of the meets. This is definitely a great board and there's a lot of knowledge across the spectrum of mods and lots of opinions on things. Plus the guys are awesome to hang out with and always willing to answer questions. You won't be disappointed with a WRX if that's the way you go. If you don't, we'd still make sure you have a great time at meets.
