So, does anyone know of an inexpensive way to do some datalogging on my WRX? I'm tuned with Ecutek and I need to get some data but I don't have the time to get to a tuner to do it. The truth is I'd be happy to use my laptop but everything I've found is really expensive, like Delta Dash... I need to get my CAI off because I'm afraid of the flooding that's going on here but I wanna be sure I'm not lean or something.
And if you send me the Tari logs I can convert them into Delta Dash graph format for easier reading for ya.
Awesome guys and thanks. It may be a few days before I can get anything, but I just might take you up on that... (CoolRex) Do you guys know if I need the Reflash Connectors? My guess is no but just wanted to be sure....
DOH! I just ordered one..... I guess I'll be getting an email telling me it's gonna be a while. Oh well I guess. At least I'm on the right track now. I just hope that software works without any serious issues. :sx:
You may be in luck. A friend here ordered one about two weeks ago and he told me they said they are on backorder. However sometimes things he says makes ya wonder if he even got the stuff so maybe that's not the case :sx:
Not for reading/logging, but they're pretty cheap so I'd say get one in case you decide to want to fiddle with your tune at some point.
EcuExplorer is nice, can also read and I think reset CELs... the latest version of enginuity has datalogging built in as well; I haven't played with it but goixiz has.
New(beta) Enginuity has also 3d graphs of maps at this time does not have graphs of logs (YET) O2 input coming soon im not related to Enginuity - FYI
Ok cool. I downloaded the newest EcuExplorer stuff. Can't wait 'til my cable gets here now. I ordered the $91. unit in case I ever want to sell it to someone who needs the connectors. I got interested in this stuff because SS told me I should get some data logs after I switch my CAI for the stock intake and silencer delete. We've been getting so much rain in WA lately I'm afaid to keep rolling with the CAI at least until summer. Can one of you guys comment on that? Specifically in terms of what I need to look at and or forward to SS?... Thanks for the other stuff too.
Yeah Tari is ECUExplorer. You can send me the CDL file from it and my DeltaDash will convert it into readable graphs.
Readable graphs huh? This is becoming more and more of a pain in the arse. Not that I don't really appreciate you saying you'd convert them for me. I just take it even after I get it hooked up and figure out how to get the logs I still won't be able to tell what it's saying....
lol...it will be a bunch of numbers. Like i got now that really mean nothing to me. But im getting them put into an excel graph and hopefully i can post them and they will make sence to someone
You want me to convert them and send you screen shots I will. That goes for anyone! I dunno if I can save the graph itself but I can always do a screen shot.
yea I think i might of logged to much information ill email you the Cvs files though. Whats your email
Don't go overboard on parameters when you log; the protocol is pretty miserable performance-wise so each additional thing you add to the log reduces the update frequency. Try to stick to the 5-8 or so you really need.
Man, just getting started is pretty miserable. I keep getting error messages and it's asking me to open a log... How the hell can I open a log if I've never even gotten to make one?
Just right-click on the port you're using (lower left) and check 'enable SSM' or whatever it says in the context menu. That should give you live data if your car's running and the connection is good.
Ming's been using it a bunch too, not sure if he had to troubleshoot anything (worked right away for me). Also post on OpenECU.org or the Tari board if you're having weird issues...
You can download delta dash from ecutek and use it to open up the ecuexplorer logs. The logging runs in demo mode but the graphing is fully functional.
WHAT?! I thought I'd have to pay out the yin-yang for Delta Dash.... Lemme try this crap. Oh yeah, I got EcuExplorer to connect finally and got some logs and stuff.
