anyone have pictures of installations of things underneath the passenger seat? I'd like to see some installs of amps, subs, tanks, whatever; trying to get some ideas.
Well it's not exactly what you asked for but I used the SPT "subwoofer/amp" to power a 10" Memphis sub. I wasn't at all happy with what the little underseat sub was giving me so I just opened her up and ran the signal wire under the seat to the trunk. I used 550 cord to secure the sub box, by tieing two lengths of cord to the grill work that goes over the speaker. It came out really clean because the box can't go anywhere unless you untie the cord.
I mounted the PC under the passenger seat. The case makes it look like an Amp. I don't have any pics with the seat back in, but can take some if you want. Unless the Passenger seat is all the way forward, you can't even see it. http://www.wrxatlanta.com/forums/showthread.php?t=8953
found a thread on nasioc by a guy that put an amp under his seat http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1135079
Uncle Scotty on Nasioc runs a lightweight battery under his passenger seat. http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/showpost.php?p=14622722&postcount=14
clarification: i've decided thats where I'm going to mount my onboard dc/ac inverter, and just mount any amps I decide on to the back seat laterzzzz.
for all my stuff i used that industrial strength velcro on the bottom of amp...laptop etc, it works well.
the only thing that i would be concerned about with velcro is what would happen if you got in a wreck or the car rolled. all that stuff would go flying around. i know nobody ever thinks that they are going to get in a wreck, but i think it is better to be prepared for the worst that be caught by surprise.... just my 2cents
well, if its the same type of 'industrial strength' velcro i have, its god for 500 lbs of load. stuff is ridiculous
