Headlight baking/install day

I've now used my new found power to move this and make it sticky. Tom is willing to host this event? I'm willing to bring food and things of that nature. We will be doing this on the 21st.


directions to tom's house:

from 285
400 N
Exit 6 Northridge Rd
go right off of the ramp
go through the light on Northridge
take your second left after that light.
if you get to roswell you went too far
that left is colquitt rd
on colquitt rd. come to a stop sign
go straight through that
turn right into Dunwoody Club Apartments (3/4of a mile from stop sign)
in the apartment complex take your second right
go to building 1200 and my unit is 1204

if you are coming south on 400. take a left off of the exit and the previous directions work from there.

i dont need to bake mine but i will join in for the fun..another reason to get together

 

i'm done with baking headlights. I baked mine more than 10 times or more already... I had to align mine HID retro. oh well... my right side is still little bit tilted, but it's all good.

 

if it's a couple weeks from now i'll come and help and say what's up.

 

when do u guys wanna do this?... if my parents r travelling, i'd love to come hang out

I like my headlights just fine the way they are, but I would probably come just to hang out.

 

sorry to butt in, but whats the deal with baking headlights? i dont get it.

 

If you heat your headlights for a LITTLE in the oven, the adhesive that holds the cover on loosens so you can take them apart. Alot of people remove the orange cover around the turn signal bulb or Paint part of the housing to give it a JDM look for next to nothing as opposed to buying the JDM headlights for ?$600. It is a free mod that adds a little to the looks of the car, if you are into that. I like my headlights the way they are, so I won't be doing this, but alot of people really like the cleared look.

 

to remove the orange parts of the turn signal you must bake the headlights for a bit so you can pull the two pieces apart because they are sealed with glue.

If you do it, try to get together with everyone else. I don't think it is hard. By the way, welcome to WRXatlanta. We have alot of get togethers, usually Thurday nights. Come out sometime and meet the guys.

 

clearing my healights is just to hold me over till I can get my Orciara WRC replicas but they're $800, anyone know of where i can get them for cheaper???

not really every thursday but most thursdays we try to meet up somewhere... i won't be able to make it out this week though

 

i'd love to come, i want to black mine out for now... it would look good when i paint the wheels this weekend i think... but i dont think i would be able to do it till prolly next weekend or later...

well, I said a month from now because I am selfish becasue i cant make it on the 14th or the 21st. I'll try to see what i can do about the 21st but I know that the 14th I cannot do unless you guys want to get together on a week day since school is ending very soon.

the 21st is the earliest i can do it and i can also host it if thats ok with everyone else. i wont be in town on the weekends untill then. so if no one can do it till the 21st. we can do part 2 at my place in dunwoody and the impatient crew can do it wherever else before then.

I want in on this but I can't do it on the 21st. The 14th and the 28th are good for me.

I can go anywhere to do it but we will have to let my car cool down . I have an uppipe/downpipe combo and an EGT probe to install

 

damn dude, dont go that far. i dont give her flowers for month anniversaries. she'll be ready to jump in your car and ride off. I think that she will be excited just to have people around. the only reason i asked is 1 cause im whipped like a lil bitch and 2 cause she is just moving in the weekend before so... dont want to ruffle the feathers. but she is down so there is no worry there and i am all about starting early. i was thinking that the earlier the better depending on how many people show. i think that one headlight takes about 20 min so that time 2 per person plus take out put in and paint and dry thats close to 2 hours per car. granted the baking can be done consecutively so that process will be long but not too long.

nevertheless, we SHOULD start early. pm me and i will give you guys my number and directions.

im so happy now, i just found out that what i was doing on the 21st is moved to the 22nd so i can stay all day now:bigthumb: :bigthumb:

 

rad... thats great news, hopefully we can get a good amount of people here and we can cook out and drink. maybe pay per view something later on that night if we are still going.

 

for all the pasty bastards in the crew the banana boat hoes are coming to the headlight baking/painting G2G. so all the sun tan products or (sun block products as it were) will be available for your consumption. For those who are afraid of beautiful women in bikinis who run oil all over themselves, there is ample shade in the back of the apartment so... feel free to stand there and be shaded by mother nature. she will not be rubbing anything on anyone other than pollen. that is all.

i got you on the springs. i had planned on there being some other stuff that people wanted to get done when they are here doing the headlights so... i am cleaning out the garage now and i have spring compressors here so no need to worry about that part. if you can wait that long i can wait to get the stickers from you then. let me know.

another thing, im hoping to get someone who has done this before here so that they can oversee everything to make sure that it all goes well. i am petrified of screwing my car up.

i want to see how that steering rac bushing thing goes too. its always good to watch and help so that i will know how to do it when its my turn.
