what are some springs that i can use without lowering my car too much, and can still use the stock tophats? were the sti pinks available for the bugeye? because if it is, that seems to be what i want.

    espilers springs should work :)
I am running those on my STI with stock tophats. Ride is great, drop is about like the Pinks, so is the spring rate

I ran the Eibach Prokit on my '03 for 2 years and 47k miles with stock struts and hats. Great performing spring on street and good performance on track (2 track days at Little Talladega proven). Nice drop.

I have the Eibach Prokit as well. The drop isn't enough in the front, so you can notice a difference in the ride height from front to rear. The spring rates are low also, if you care about racing. I would suggest the Espelir's or RCE's. They have the highest spring rates and similar drop. The pinks are better than the Eibach's as far as spring rate goes. The eibach drop is -1.3" front and -1" rear, so if you can find something with a little more drop in the front, or less in the rear, that should make a more even drop.

Regarding the RCE's, keep in mind that they were designed for the the STi strut. According to a few posts that I've read, the RCE spring rates are too high for the WRX strut. In Myles' words, "Yes they will fit, but the ride will be HORRIBLE !! These were designed for the STI struts in mind and so the high rate/ underdamped setup you are talking about is NOT going to be effective. You will ONLY look good and be bouncing down the road like SNOOP DAWG in a 70' Impala in South Central. "

I did Whiteline flatout springs with KYB GF2 struts and it looked perfect... However, it rode like total ass!!! Handling was decent, but I swear if you hit a pebble your teeth would rattle out...

I put stock STI springs on my 02. I did have to change the rear top mount but the drop is nice (about .5") and the ride is still good with a better spring rate.

As youve asked, Ive got a set of 04 sti springs that would work for you and definately provide a noticable improvement in ride quality and handling quality.
