Long time coming to get this journal going...I'll go back and fill in the gaps. ... To do -- fill in the gaps ... Jumping ahead 4 months to the day when she found her place in my garage. A great day yesterday with Keith (lostinthewoods) and Ped as we worked on the STi's, attempted to launch parachute jumpers from the deck, ate rum balls and laughed at the duct tape in Ped's hair. A spring install for me (RCE's - more below), a diagnosis on Keith's '05 and a new rear sway for Ped's '04. Pics at http://picasaweb.google.com/fcbenoit/WorkingOnTheSTiS Enjoy :bigthumb: The RCE's feel and look great. My initial thoughts with about 30 miles of highway driving and 5 miles of around town driving - without a doubt stiffer, but not harsh by any stretch of the means, turn-in definitely improved, body roll reduced, 85% of the bobblehead effect is gone (I still noticed some on the drive home from Ped's on the newer sections of 400 @ 70-80 mph) and the drop (hopefully still settling) looks great so far, although the rear is lower than I thought. I haven't pushed the car on and off the highway, but the wife and I are going out this afternoon around town, so I'll post some more thoughts later. And once Little Tally opens up again in '07, I'll have a full report after a day on the track.
Haha, I knew it. Rear is to low 85% eh? Quite the precise number now isnt it Glad you like them man, I'm enjoying mine as well. Cant wait till my plates come in!
I am crushed that you would install these and not call / write / send a carrier pigeon to let me know you were doing so out:
UPDATED: Sway bar installed (Long time since I've updated this journal...geez) Lots has happened since the springs. 1. Installed a hitch (thanks to lostinthewoods and Ped) 2. Purchased a Thule 917 T2 hitch mounted bike rack 3. Started autocrossing...hooked, yes. 4. 10th St JDM Headlight painting, clearing and TSX lens swap (http://www.wrxatlanta.com/forums/showpost.php?p=164778&postcount=160) Now that I'm up to date... BrianGT and I (mostly Brian) installed the Whiteline 27-29 adjustable front sway bar last night. Straight forward install...my first sway bar install, Brian's 8th. On the test ride, I instantly noticed an increase in steering response, overall front stiffness and decreased body roll...the obvious, expected results. I'm looking forward to pushing it at the AX on the 12th. Next up, PDE plates...when, and if, PDE ever decides to make and ship me some camber plates. :hsugh:
Yeah, 7 months, not too long I guess. Must've been the e-thuggin' that kept you Car looks great. You still liking your RCE springs?
