Let me start off saying this.......I love this CAR! On street tires 1/4 time.....11.627 1/4 mph......123.78 1/8 time......7.59 1/8 mph......98.30 60 ft..........1.614 We have a junk 03 WRX at the shop so since I now have access to a tranny I figured the heck with it. Wheelspin was simply horrible in first and second. With the new torque down low I couldn't get traction for anything no matter what psi the tires were set to. On went some slicks that two Honda guys were nice enough to let me use. First pass on slicks I bogged so bad that I didn't even bother to stick it through. Dang these things grip. Second pass I tried again and bogged. Third pass did it again. I then decided to switch back to the old faithful rev and slip launch techinque (I was trying to brake boost like I do on street tires before) and got off the line but bogged the 2 shift. Then it was showdown as at this point I'm pissed off at the world. Went through the water box and NAILED the launch and just prayed that the tranny doesn't explode in glory. 1/4 time.....11.579 1/4 mph......123.45 1/8 time......7.469 1/8 mph......99.32 60 ft..........1.439 :fawk: I called it a night and on the way home I gunned the car in second just because I was so happy. What happens? I remember a dip in the road and when the car planted itself I heard CRACK....Pop pop pop. Thinking I done blew the tranny finally I coast over and take a look see. Ha ha the rear passenger axle snapped. Spent last night in the cold swapping it out and drove the WRX to work this morning. Tranny feels good (second is a little notchy but with the cold I wasn't worried). Dang this car just keeps going and going and going.
Not even gonna bother. I am sick and tired of all the bullshit and crap talking over there. I'm happy and I am letting the guys that are my friends know which are all here. Later on I'll be posting the timeslip. Right now I gotta get to work before the boss yells at me.
Have you considered doing any sort of weight reductions? It'll definately prove positive gains if you can shed a hundred or 2.
I joined the gym....lol Yeah I need to shed some. I like the look of the car so the kit is staying but I am saving to get some Bride seats which should be a bit lighter than the stockers. This car is my daily so I have to do things within reason. I don't want to lose the functionality of the car since I plan one day to have kids (which is why I'm trying to finish this car up).
Yeah but I like my audio and all. Last night the sub box and all were out. There was NOTHING in the car at all except the laptop. I'm surprised the engine didn't pop. 26 psi is a lot for the stock engine.
Same as before with a MUCH MUCH more aggressive tune. I was running on a map I wasn't even supposed to be running
Welp! My car was PUKING oil last night. My fault for running that damn Dyno map....oh well lesson learned. Engine runs fine just a LOT of oil coming off the passenger head and dripping on the up pipe resulting in stinky smell and smoke. When I looked in the dark I could see a lot of oil at the black ventilation thingy on top of the passenger head. Wonder what caused this? That seal gone bad or a plugged PCV?
