Ok '06 STi and '03 COBRA
COBRA stock with Flowmaster Cat back. '06 STi completely Stock.
Good friend has COBRA and we always play in straight shots, cause he knows the STi will absolutely KILL the COBRA in the turns.
5mph roll ons all the way to 4th gear, the cobra is up front from 2nd to 4th gear by 1/2 car length, pulling away slowly in 4th gear. roll ons at about 70mph, same thing. Cobra just a little faster until it hits 90-95mph, then it pulls away.

Added catless mid pipe, high flow axle back, Samco intake hose, snorkel delete, and K&N filter.
Now, 5mph roll ons, its side by side all the way to 4th gear, then Cobra slowly pulls away.
roll ons at 70mph, side by side until 100mph. Cobra pulls away until 120mph and stops pulling. at 120mph the STi starts to want to catch up again is weird but cool. Very impressed with the STI. With some EM, this will become interesting. This shows with just little bolt ons, it does make a diff. Not so much as EM and bigger Turbos, but something is something, right? I will keep you posted.
Pretty daing close considering we are compareing a 4cyl turbo with a V8 supercharged. The V8 should kill the little 4cyl by 6-7 car lengths. :hsnono: the little STi will hold more than its own against the big V8. I do love both cars and they are both Awsome. What kills my frien is that I have 4 doors and still close enough to smell his A$$. :)

Ill just go ahead and assume these runs occurred in a purely legal off-street location ;)

I'd just hope he doesn't get a new pulley on his SC with that little mod and that exhaust he'll be in viper territory (12s 1/4 mile) from what i remember when those car's were released. But hell yeah on pacing with him. And EM should unlock a good bit not to mention tuning for what you've got already.

If he does anything to his car he'll rape you all up and down the highway. New blower pulley, new rear end, and some drag radials and those cars will easily run 12s.

Yah, better watch that. My good friend in NJ's '03 Cobra is making 650 whp and 645 lb ft wtq on the street tune and 700+ on race gas...doesn't take much to make that much power. Enjoy it until he mods. :D

be careful racing cobras in your imprezas. last one i raced flipped at 110+ three times after slamming into and taking out 5 sections of concrete barrier. (guy walked away).

Haaahaaahaaa.....Guys, I know the Cobra with a few little mods will kill the STi. My point was that a 2.5L 4cyl. turbo can very well hang with a stock V8 super Charged Cobra. Thats all. Very impressed with the STi. I would have expected a stock V8 Super Charge could eat an STi for lunch, and it just didnt. Oh, and if is just race for race, I will bring out my '04 ZX-10R against the COBRA. HAHAHAHAAAAAA. I do love Cobras !!!!!! and every car in the world except for Kia's AND Hyundai. hahahahahaa

i don't think an sti would "kill" in the turns. don't underestimate the svt's suspension, those cars handle ridiculously well, they just power over way to easy, driven with finese i don't think you could put too much distance between a stock sti and a stock svt

This guy brought his SVT on a trailer to TGPR, it was heavely modded plus r-comps. I had a front sway bar and old RA1s. The car wasn't very fast in the corners at TGPR, he almost lost it in the decreasing radius turn (u-turn as siegel likes to call it) but I couldn't keep with him in the short straights. I think the fastest mustang time was 1:16 that day... meanwhile a supra was running 1:12, i was running 1:11 and Stephen (xnoodlesx) ran a 1:10. I would admit on a faster course like roebling or Road Atlanta the mustang SVT may have been able to pull fast (if not faster) lap times than a stock STi, but the STi is definately a better cornering car.

Have to agree with Mer on the above. We have both an 05 gt mustang as well as my little wrx and I have to say that the wrx handles better...drove the wife's mustang last night and I think I may be a tad faster now too...well until she throws the inevitable supercharger on there! Two totally different cars, hard to compare, but our lil 4 cylinders are pretty impressive all things considered....I mean we only have half the displacement to work with!

Alrighty, as we've said before, there is a virtually zero tolerance for street racing threads. If you'd like to discuss events of that nature, you know where to go ;)
