I have had my sways now for 2 weeks in my trunk and haven't had time to get them installed. This Saturday looks to be ok, mid50s with some clouds but virtually 0 chance of rain. I'm wondering if anyone can help me install them and I will buy a 6 pack of your fav as long as it is below $10. Thanks a lot, and I live close to Roswell and 285 but of course I can drive to you. I don't have a garage or a lot of tools, but I would like to help and/or watch because I will be getting and installing sways in 3-6 months. Did you get front and rear? endlinks? what brand?
I got the Cusco 22mm front and rears from Sakari. So I'm hoping they come with endlinks or anything I need. I guess I should open the box and look inside. I've just been crazy busy at work but it should lighten up some now.
I haven't done the front bar myself, but did do the rear. The front doesn't look to difficult from what I have read. If you want to take a shot, I can help. I have a garage and tools also. Could try Saturday or Sunday.

REAR IS MUCH EASIER THAN THE FRONT Only if you have the right flex wrench to remove the psgr rear bolt that is kinda behind the fuel filler tube. then you have to do it all over if you use the same bolt - but if you get a hex head bolt then installing back will be much easier. for the front you may want to use some powertools otherwise it will be some grunting
ditto on that. The rear is pretty much a piece of cake. The front takes either some luck or droping the subframe some. I was able to get front out with a few slick twists turns and choice words
sorry i cant lately my time has been very tight in fact im changing my FSB when i get the chance as well just be safe and make sure you chock the wheels and jack stand the car when working in the front but only install the links when the wheels are partially down on the ground. as for the rears unless you have lowered your car drastically you can get to all the parts easily - wear safety glasses because sand and all the stuff will be falling dont forget the lube and use plenty of it torque them down and paint or loctite those bolts
what kind of torque should be used? I was under the impression that its around 14lb for pretty much all the bolts. But does it change for the bushings?

I might need to come. Looks like the front might be a bit to hard to do with the limited resources at work. I can probably get the rear by myself, but the front is a little harder. Can someone PM the address and time? I'll decided on Friday if I am going to attend or not

IMO both front/rear were pretty easy. It took longer to get the sub-frame off in the front than it did to change it out. The only issue I ran into was figuring out I needed an allen wrench to get the front SB bolts off.. I don't know if all years have the allen type bolt(mine was an 03')... For the rear, just take that black box thingy(don't know what it is) off and use wire or a twist tie to hold it up, much easier than trying to go around it... other than those things... gravy! P.S... I'd bite the bullet and buy the endlinks if I were you(at least the rears, fronts should be ok)... stockers are pretty flimsy in the rear(plastic) and are prone to break....
Well it is done. Thanks to Jason, Mike, and Ped, the sways were installed and the fronts were done WITHOUT having to take the sub-frame off. Thanks for coming guys and sharing the beer and pizza.
How'd you manage that? I couldn't get the bracket off without letting the subframe drop some. Thankfully it was kind of stuck so when I unbolted it, it didn't drop much but was just enough to do what I needed to until the end when I accidentally unstuck it. It's not light. I was going to attend today, but I managed to borrow some tools Friday so I decided to do it by myself. Took me about 4 hrs. Course most of that was trying to figure out all I needed to unbolt to get it out.
You can do it, but its more of a pita imo...I just drop the subframe and install a fsb in about 20 mins or so.
we dropped his sub-frame. He just didn't know it because our "ninja" skills prevented him from knowing...
damn seriously? you did the front with the sub-frame drop in the same time it took me with Mike's help and Jason help to do the back? hahaha....man that's nuts.
yeah pEd is quite the "ninja" we did mine by dropping the subframe...still took less time than the rear took on mine (what 4 hours for the rear?)
