Thank for your earlier response to how many miles on your OE tires.....now, how about your OE brake pads????? how many miles you put in them before replacing? :hsugh:
I had about 25k, but I had an entire season of Auto X, an 8 hour session at Little Tally (Driving for at least 5 hours of that) and a 30 minute session at RA.
I'll be at around 30k at least before I replace mine. A few track days, 1 season of auto-x on top of normal wear and tear.
You just need to take your wheels off and look. It all depends on driving style and driving locations. Look how much pad is left between the metal piece and the rotor. There should be a black or gray layer, and thats your pad. If you are seeing less than a mm left, then you should consider replacing them. Also, most brake pads will start to squeel intermitantly letting you know they need to be replaced in the next month or so. Rear pads only need to be replaced every other time you replace the front pads, as they don't wear nearly as much.
25,500K and still kicking. shit, i think i'm just about to give up on the sweet OEM wiper blades. if BigB did crack my windshield on that Mnt. run last july, i'd have replaced the wipers that much sooner. now i don't care about the glass anyway, OG pads with 2 medium auto-x seasons and OG tyres, too. i do have a set of race tires, however.
mine lasted about 5k, when I determined they sucked and put Hawk HP+ pads on my car. They lasted about 20 autox events and four-five track days. I still have my stock pads sitting around my garage collecting dust.
Meredith, I can take those stock pads of yours and have them collect dust in my house. HEEHEEE I like my stockers. Wanna sell them????? Subaru changes the 1st set of brake pads under warranty??? (420) ??
I ran my stock pads to 35K or 40K, then put on Hawks. I think there's still 10-15K left on the stock.
