Today I put on some stuff I had around the house. I didn't really notice the SS lines, ATE Blue, and Kartboy End links, yet (I'm sure they'll come in handy someday when I'm on a track or something). But I've always had really sloppy shifting... These shift bushings really made a drastic improvement! And for only $35, you really can't go wrong. Install was a snap once I got the right angle on the screwdriver/pry bar. I got it from FastWRX.com, but I'll bet you can pick these things up anywhere... Next up is either PDE camber plates and ALKs, or the vf39 I've had on my shelf for a month. Anybody know of another cheap mod that kicks ass like the shift bushings? I'm off to the "Reviews" section!
Steering rack bushings are supposed to be an awsome cheap mod. ~$35, i dont have them yet, but i plan on getting them soon. also.. are you using a short shifter, or are you using the bushings with the stock shifter?
The car came with a factory short shifter and the P.O. added the rack bushings. I don't know how much difference these made b/c I never drove without them. I'm thinking about the rear diff lock bolts, but the car was designed with bushings there for a reason. I'm worried it may cause problems later on...
My shifter vibrates a little with the bushings, but its because I don't have a threaded shift knob. I have the one that you set with the little allen screw. So its a universal shifter, but if you get a subarau one that is threaded specifically, it shouldn't be a problem.
mmtasty (I had a brainfart with your name...) I might be at Alex's house Friday installing a KB shifter and bushings if you want to stop by. I think we're putting his camber plates on as well.
