So I'm going to be taking my car in for the 60k mile inspection on Friday (at Gerald Jones in Augusta, where I bought it). I have an accessport. When they are doing the diagnostic check and all, is there anything that will throw up a red flag? I'm not too terribly worried about the warranty just because I'm already past 60k, just kind of curious. Would you guys unmarry it or just leave it programmed? I'm not trying to cheat the dealership or anything, I believe everything is in proper running order, just curious what you all would do.
I don't know whats all involved in the 60k but I doubt their checking out the ecu... Even if they did and found it they would also have to find a problem, and then attribute it to the AP.. So, IMO I'd leave it alone, your fine.
You could remove it, there's no way they possibly no the ECU has been reflashed in any way. I'd play it safe, but i guess if you're that far along on mileage.
Oh, haha alright, well my basemap is the otc stage 1 (which is all I really use) so i guess I wouldn't have to worry about it. Haha, basically this all stems out of laziness. I really don't feel like having to climb down under the dash if I don't have to.
I hear that there is a way for them to read the flash count, but there would be no reason for them to attempt to unless they were trying to diagnose a code or something. Depending on the dealership you might be able to just let them know about the accessport map and ask them to not reset anything. I have a feeling the people at SOG would be ok with that, especially someone like Neal.
