Hey everyone and glad to be apart of the WRX world. First off im 30 years old and live in Dalton Ga. I recently bought my first Turbo. I got a 2007 wrx sti on gold wheels, came from a Rsx type-S. I am planning a couple of mild mods in the next 2 weeks or so. Ill list what i have in store at the bottom and maybe some of you will have something for sell or know where i might save some money. Im not new to the tuner world, but new to the turbo world so any advise will be much appreciated. Well guess i just list my mods and let some comments start.

    Cobb
    Stage 2 Power Package
    SF Intake System (Short Ram)
    Lightweight Main Pulley
    Urethane Exhaust Hanger

Defi Gauges if anyone has a pod set up or has a recommendation on location for them please let me know. I dont like the center pod they offer to bulky to me.

    Thanks Mike :coolugh:

    Welcome to WRXatlanta

    My suggestion:

Forget about the short ram intake and keep the stock airbox. It works well for big power.
I wouldn't go with the exhaust hangar either. I haven't ever done a pulley.

Save the extra money and drop it on a good tune :)

Welcome to the site. This is a great place! Everyone will have opinions on first mods, but at the end of the day it is all about your individual goals for the car. Helpful, right? :D

My 2c, driver training and suspension mods FTW. Be sure to get out to an upcoming g2g.

Thanks for the welcome. Ill be doing pics this weekend and be sure to post them up.
Yea someone else told me not to do any intake mods but just thought the shorty they offer was pretty cheap and doesnt take away from the stock intake is why i thought about using. Mainly for a nice clean look under the hood.

And yea ill try to hit up a G2G soon, was reading some of the Mtn. trip post and i think i could get a nice ride together after i get to some of you. I also own a Gsxr 1000 05, been riding for about 8 years now so i know alot of nice roads up this way. But sounds like yall had a good time at BM.

No one has suggested a good number for 1xxx. I was going to do 1500 (or whenever its warmer outside) party.

    Welcome to the boards!

Like others said, I'd skip the intake. And actually the pulleys too. I don't have any supporting information on this. But I feel in my heart somewhere that this isn't a good mod for our cars. I dunno, probably something I've read and also by the fact that no one really does this (at least early in the modding process). Basically, I feel the money can be spent better elsewhere (suspension).

Welcome buddy. I came from a 03 Si. The turbo/AWD world is much more fun.

Yes, they're a variety of free mods you can do that will give a bit of personalization to the car...Painted headlamps, blacked out interior trim, etc, etc.
