whos down to try again..... the weather is starting to get alot better... who's down to meet up again? My car still has acouple things that need to be fixed.. but this is just an idea....... whos down? we can start planing it right now and take it from there, we can do it in a month or two. diffrent location.. the Varisty is to common now adays. Maybe Stone Mountain or in an open area.. maybe do a cook out... take some pictures.... stuff like that. I really want to get in on the Subaru action in Atlanta.. ive only chilled with acouple of yall. Id like to have atleast 20 people show up. im sure we can have a really good time Id like to have Alex and George(Nemesis Digital) help me out on this one. All are welcomed. what do yall say...?
this happened last time... alot of people said that they were down... but the day of the meet nobody showed up. i had a small accident and couldn't make it... other people i guess were just to lazy or didn't want to wake up so early. now its cool... but they shouldn't have said that they were going and changed their minds at the last min.
Definitely do a lunch thing in stead of a breakfast thing. I assure you that more people will come in the afternoon than will come in the morning on a weekend.
no dought...... id like to know whens a good " day " and whens a good " time " everyones opinion counts
W0rd! that'd be really cool..... lets take it one step at a time though.... this may go down in acouple months though
Stone Mountain doesnt really like car clubs, we've tried to organize meets their in the past. I'll come out again.
my schedule is extremely variable... depending on what date this is fixed, i might be able to make it... welcome to the world of planning events ;-) we have a meet coming up at quiznos next saturday... you should show up there
Coming from the Orlando area, we found that the best way to get people to show up is to not plan it soooo far in advance. A week or 2 notice was all that we had and plenty of people seemed to show up. We did lots of meets down there that way. If you are thinking about a lunch thing, Sunday is probably the best day because less people work during that day and if they do most get off fairly early. One meet, that is actually coming up soon down there, that always has a good turn out is Pointe Orlando. It's a shopping, touristy area that has a parking garage. They usually block off an entire level for us and people could walk around, mingle, go shopping, or go eat (there's a few places like Hooters in there). I'm new to ATL so I don't know if there is a place like that around here. If there is I think that would be a good place to have it. I would be more than happy to pitch in and help the organizing, just let me know.
i know we can make this a huge meet... but we do need alot of planning. -Milo next Sat. i might not be able to... i always work on Sats. id have to give a three weeks notice if i want a day off.. Ash feel free to let us know any ideas or anything to make this meet work. Nitro- i know man....
How about having a "main" day for the autocross G2G? There is plenty of room for parking, cooking, hanging out. Its also family friendly, so that might free some people's leashes a bit Not trying to steal your G2G or anything But its starting to look like quite a few people are going to attending. Just my 0.02
G2G= Get Together. Its the thread right below yours http://www.wrxatlanta.com/forums/showthread.php?t=11885
dude thats not a bad idea at all...... and it takes place one day after my birthday. Thats still a very long time though... ill be down to go, but i have stock suspension, i really need to upgrade.
I'm trying to rack my brain but the only thing so far is Atlantic Station but there is no way that they will let us have an entire parking deck in their garage for a meet. Maybe if we contain it to the day and are outta there by the time they get busy. It would a nice place to do an all day thing. You can mingle, look at other cars, eat, shop, whatever. There is enough to do there that people shouldn't get bored too easily. It would also be a good way for the community to introduce their significant others and they shouldn't be too bored either with all of the non-car stuff around. What do you think???
Atlantic Station would be bad ass. I would totaly go this way when were done I take the wife to a movie or something. Plus I haven't made it up there yet and was told it's awsome. :sx:
cool..... now as soon as i get my baby all fixed up ill update the meet and all the other stuff. hope to see you there james
Okay...I made contact this morning and I am waiting to hear back. If we are able to do it we are all going to have to pay the regular parking fee which varies depending on how long you stay (you can go to their website for the cost). In order to have the best turn out we are going to have to do it on a Saturday or Sunday and if we schedule it at least 3 weeks out maybe that will give enough time for the weekend workers to request off. I also need a guesstimate on how many cars will be there? I don't know WRXAtlanta history on events like this so are we looking at 20, 50, 100 cars? What do you guys think? Do you think it will be just us or do you think that we will get some out-of-towners? I need to let them know when they contact me to let me know if we can do it. I hope we have a huge turn out!!!
If it's a few weeks out I'll most likely make it. It's pretty close to me yet it doesn't have that air of sleaziness like the varsity.
well last time only 4 showed up.. but the last one was on a bad day and time.... hopefully this one will turn out better...... id estimate about 10-20 cars
once again im throwing up the offer of my parents pool hall, sandy springs billiards *the one next to the movie theater on roswell road* and for parking wise, free. and for pool we'll give an amazing $5 an hour
