Has anyone ever had this happen to them? Is it even possible? I recently got new rims and in order to have them clear the brembos in the front I needed 1/4 in spacers. No problem except that with the spacers in the back I was getting some rubbing. So I decided to take the spacers out in the rear until I can source 1/8 spacers and fix things. The passenger side tire goes well then I switch to the drivers side and loosen up the lug nuts. 3 come off no problem the other two go about 2 1/2 turns and will go no farther even with a pretty big bar for extra levrage. Did the tire shop cross the threads or what?

yup, it happened to me once. I just torqued the lug and snapped the stud, so then I had to get a new stud punched in along with a new lug.

Its somewhat common. Just take a rubber mallet, hammer the stud out, replace and you're good to go.

You don't have to remove the brake dust shield or anything on the Subaru. The only thing that sucks is getting the center brake rotor nut off to remove the rotor. Once that is done, with a long pipe, your good to go.

Hmm, on mine i just undo the nuts and I can pull the rotor off. The axel nut holds the hub in...?

Thats how my evo is. I broke a stud tonight doing a tire rotation, so I have some work to look forward to doing when the stud comes in.

Yeah, axle nut holds the rotor in. Advance auto parts or wherever you shop will carry the stud. No need to wait to ship something.
