I will more than likely be there. That's the first weekend of our spring break though and it kind of depends on whatever plans I end up forming.
I will be there again! However this time I am planning on participating. Last year he basically killed everyone there. Should be interesting with your new suspension! It's a pretty small course so your gonna need something that can spool quickly there.
Remember to watch 'Forza Motorsport Showdown' on SPEED Wed. night, they'll be on this autocross course.
what were the times last year? 30 sec. 45 sec. 60 sec.? i'm glad to see so many peeps signing up. this will be a good time to do another group shot somewhere. the field they used for Petit Le Mans race, against the road in, past the ticket booth, has a good slope to it. i'll offer myself out to organizing the shoot again, milo, alex.
The fastest time with the R-class was a Solo2 prepped Corvette ZO6 on slicks... The times are also on the link in my first post
This is a very tight course with 1 straight away (the picture of me). When I was stock... I was in 2nd gear the entire lap, I would just barely touch the limiter going into the turn after the straight...
sigh, upon looking at the budget it does not appear springs will be going in, in time for this. The understeer and roll should be fun! :naughty: damn debt
btw, if you dont have tivo you can watch them on youtube. http://youtube.com/results?search_query=forza+showdown&search=Search it's been broken into 6 different clips for some reason. I watched the first one, but havent gotten to the second one yet. Little embarrassing there for the yearone guys.
Here is the autocross episode: http://youtube.com/watch?v=9thMmsjPq74 Its the same layout of the course, and the same instructors will be helping you. (I still beat their time )
i must go. autocross course looks fun. need new tires before then. need to figure out whats going on with my rear drivetrain. grinding and squeaking noises.
I watched the first two episodes and have to say I'm not impressed. There's gonna be a huge difference between a Z06 and a 350Z and driver skill is only going to make up so much for the lack of horsepower. I don't understand where they got the autox guy, he's not a national champion or trophy holder. I think It would have been a cooler concept if they all used the same cars for some or all of the challenges, ie everybody would drive a stock Mini for the autox, a mustang for a drag competition and then they use their own team car for the road race. Just to put it in perspective the pax (theoretical driver index) for an Fstock muscle car for SCCA Solo II is 0.809, and a SS z06 is 0.848. As for beating their times, they only had three runs total; could your first three times have been faster than the runs on the show?
Redline Is In Hey guys, I just posted this on my Clubs site (Redline Auto Club). I think this is a cant miss Event. J Man
Yeah, you register at the tower on pit lane when you get there. Signs will be posted directing you where to go. I just posted the Forza thing so you could get a look at the course itself...
I didn't mean any offense, I just really hate that Forza show now. Also there is a big difference between running a course all day long and getting just three runs at it. Autox isn't about precision like track is, it's about learning the course and driving to the limit in three runs. However it is fun to chew tires up in a test and tune environment.
To be honest with you, I set that 25.94 on my second lap on Friday, it didn't move all weekend. The track was fresh and cool too. (It was about 80 degrees average that weekend) It gets pretty greasy as the day goes on
This is a continuation from the "Lets Get Fl Involved!!!!" thread: If we invited people up from FL to join us, who all would be interested in doing a host family thing? I know there are people who open their homes up when the Dragon parade comes through town...let's show some hospitality and do the same thing for this event. You don't necessarily have to have extra beds either. I am sure people will be willing to bring their own air mattresses as opposed to paying for a hotel room. I don't want to extend the invitation to them until we know that people are willing to join in on this so what do you say...? Who all is up for letting some people crash at their place during this event? I'll start the tally: Ashley25 GPJamesMVT 2PT5 pEd Alex
Well i will def be coming to the event, the time attack sti will be done by then and i think it would be a great event. Im working on getting some feedback from the florida guys, but you can count kenny and the So Fla Autosports team in...by the way thanks Ashley!
Really looking foward to meeting you guys up and having a good time on the track. It should be interesting with muscle cars and imports in the mix! What im really looking foward to is having my floriday guys participate with you guys in GA.
looks like its gonna be a great turn out..im working on having some stuff made out for u guys like shirts etc...
Cool man! I was thinking about getting some WRXatlanta decals made up since there will be a lot of TV crews and magazines
oh sorry, I never saw that... Yeah, you can either buy a 1 day, 2 day, or 3 day pass. I'm not sure which day we're going set as the 'main' day for the club though...
It's cool. Sunday would work best for me, but I'm willing to take off of work to make this if I have to.
Anyone else wanna let some people from Florida crash at their place during the event? C'mon...where's Suby love??? :wavey:
Ive got 6 of my guys so far coming..I might be able to get around 20 or so guys..maybe more lets see..
