The photos hardly do it justice. It is supposedly an OE Lotus color. The gold metallic in the red paint is easily the coolest color I have ever seen on an STI. I have no idea how much they are asking for it but who cares, it is simply amazing. If you guys are in the neighborhood you should stop by and lay eyes on it yourself. Congrats to SOG for making a fantastic choice on the custom paint job. Now just put some gold BBS on that thing and call it a day.
Indeed, the car looks GREAT!! They need to put some Bronze Prodrive GC-06's on there to really set it off. the only downside to it is I'm willing to bet that they are going to jack the price up on a car that's lost a significant amount of value. Granted, YES it is a one off car now, but still....it's just not OEM
You are definitely correct. The price is sure to go up and the value has certainly gone down. You really should see it in person. Siegel, techlord, monk, and I all agreed that it was hot like fire.
I think its pretty damn sweet... looks a lot better than the ESX STI's. Wonder what there charging...
I was up there yesterday and saw it....it doesn't look as good on a cloudy day as it does under the sun.
Dude, I saw that car at AutoGlo, it was being painted the same time my front bumper was being re-done. They didn't have the wing back on at the time; it looks really nice! I'm curious about the price too, SoG must have paid quite a bit for that paint job!
well my quiestion would be , why did they paint it? was it in an accident previously? Also the paint may look great on the outside but as soon as you pop the hood or anytime you open your door that silver will kill the look. I'd use it to talk them down since it's not oem imo.
and they would laugh at you because there are plenty of people willing to pay a premium to be diffrent. I think the color is awesome, I wonder if this is the begining of a new trend.
Not really a fan, I mean I'm sure it the paint looks great, but it's just not a color I would want on a Subaru. Maybe something a little more exotic...
i'd have to see in it person, but i can prolly say that i wouldn't buy it. someone will surely pick this car up. someone post up when they find out what the asking price is. i'm curious too.
This is the first of the "SOG Signature Editions." There will only be ONE of each color made, so each car will be One of One. The doors jambs are all entirely painted. The only part that is not is the engine bay, and the masking was done REALLY well. The paint is AWESOME in person. We've got a good deal with the paint shop so the price is reasonable. SS
Very different STi. I just hope they don't plan on getting too much more for it than MSRP... even though they probably can. It's just so wrong to jack the price way up IMO. I still give it 8 out of 10.
eh not sure about it right now...of course that's how i felt about the sti wing at first and then it grew on me so maybe i'll like it the more i look at it
I've seen it in person too and I'm on the fence. I didn't realize at first that SoG had it painted; it resembles the Java Black of the '04 cars so much that I thought it was Subaru's new color. Looks like San Remo Red with the gold flake they use in Java Black. It would be nice to have a one-of-a-kind car but only if it's OEM-one-of-a-kind. It looks good now but I hope this doesn't start a ricer trend. Subaru's seem to be the only import that hold their integrity of OEM colors. There aren't too many people that go out and have their Subarus custom painted...that's a Honda thing. (I can say that 'cause I used to be in the Honda crowd )
Wish Subaru would have offered a red one from the beginning. It's a BA color. As for the price, if the GT500 on the showroom floor is an indication of thier "price adjustments" I'm betting the owner will ask $40,000 for this STi. lol It's a beautiful car for sure.
Not digging it.....I hate red....too many memories of my 500hp Talon that I flipped. Top Secret gold would be the ish but mucho $$$$$$.
What influenced repainting the car? Was the car damaged pre-delivery? I would just worry about resale value for such a car, but to each their own. I wouldn't mind seeing a yellow STi, but in the form of the Subaru Impreza WRX STi Spec C Type RA-R, in full JDM goodness -- Brian
Alright just one of the first things that I would worry about not being disclosed if I was buying a repainted car. Best of luck with the SOG Signature editions. I hope it goes better than the other company that was selling those red STis. -- Brian
