are these tires legal on street and how long will they last? i want something like this kind of a tread pattern on my tires, so just a reference. if you guys have suggestions for a better tire that look/handle as such, please let me know! (i know you guys might think i`m weird looking at the tread design, but i will be designing stuff for a living so dont give me a hard time :sx: )

1.yokohama advan A048 (it says it is street-legal? goes on a lotus elise sport model)
    my favorite one. [IMG]

    2.yokohama parada spec-2[IMG]

any other brand such as Falkens, Bridgestones i will consider as well. it's be even better if they are cheaper.. i think i am just hooked on those ADVANs...

Hmm. I don't know that much about these particular tires, but I do know that some "street legal" tires are a lot like some racing tires in that once you heat them up and cool them down once they very quickly start to lose thier strength and usefullness. So that's what I'd look into.

Of course if they're standard equipment on a street car like the Lotus then they should at least last for a little while.

1 and 3 are street legal but suck in rain and the treadwear is 40 meaning they would not last long. They are made for the track really

The Prada-2 that is a daily tire tho.

Tread pattern has become a marketing gimmick to some extent :)

Go with a set of azenis and you'll be more than satisified!

I had the Parada spec-2's on my civic and they were incredibly sticky!

    They look badass too...

    You'll love the spec-2's.

omg... i am so sorry about your civic man. i`m pretty sure there is nothing to be replaced for it, but you did have insurance on it right?!

but yea, as for the tire, how long do they last? i dont do any form of racing except go for a joy ride sometimes. on daily basis, i drive like a grandpa after getting my stupid tickets.

Yeah, my insurance check went towards an 02 bugeye that I used to have.

As far as the tire life goes, I believe the tires have a 200 treadwear (if I remember correctly). I had them for about 8 months of daily driving with the occasional spirited driving and there honestly was little sign of treadwear. But obviously, I didnt have a chance to see how long they would last, lol.

BTW, you drive a forester right? Are you the slammed black forester I waved to on Peachtree Ind. the other week? (I was in a white 06 wagon)

haha i see many subarus on peachtree ind, but i drive a black bugeye. you can tell it's me if you see a bpb bugeye with sti axle-back and a 'turbo' emblem on top of the impreza on debadged trunk.
