okay, this has been going on for about 3 weeks now... after i've come to a complete stop, then start going again, when i touch the brake pedal (no real pressure, just putting my foot on the brake) i hear a single metallic "chirp" that sounds like it's coming from the front. it's an intermittent thing... doesn't happen every time i brake or even every time i brake after a complete stop/start going. intermittent. anyone have any ideas?
Yeah, your brakes need to be changed in the front soon. They start squeeling intermitantly, then it will become all the time. My rears are doing the same thing right now, except I have to brake hard, because rear brakes don't always actuate under normal braking, you have to push hard to get the rears going sometimes.
yeah, and it's not a squeal, it's a short single chirp the FIRST time i put my foot on the brake pedal after coming to a complete stop. doesn't happen any other time, and doesn't even happen all the time when the conditions are met. very weird stuff. let me illustrate it here: -------> driving >----------| complete stop for Stop-Light: NO CHIRP]|----------> start driving again>-------[brake pedal touched-CHIRP]----continue driving--->[brake pedal touched again-NOTHING]------->
re-greasing already? that's kind of annoying for a 3mo old $30+K car. what kind of grease did you use?
see if SOG can inspect it under warranty... a brand new car shouldnt need re-greasing so soon... i bought mine at pep boys... they have little packets at the check out counter
Ahh, forgot that you had the new 07... I agree with Milo, check the shims and make sure they are seated properly.
