Silver Dollar Raceway 3-16-07

I was there tonight and it was freaking sweet. Didn't take my car for fear of a tire blowing out but I went with a few friends and they usually are slower at Commerse. Either way they got a ton of runs in and it was only 20 bones for a driver and 10 for a spectator. I will be going back on the 16th and if anyone else want to go then by all means lets have a party or something. haha.

Yeah Silver Dollar is in Reynolds but it is quite a ways away from Atl.

I won't be there on sunday cause I drastically need new tires and I was giving myself a few weeks to actually get them.

 

when you say 'a ton' you mean about how many runs each?

 

Well we got there at like 8:45 and ran from then to about 10:45 and my friend got 11 runs in and there was no one there towards the end. No wait in the staging lanes it was insane. The gates open at 7 and they are open until 11. Race gas is there and on the 16th I am leaving Marietta at like 3pm to get there on time and miss all the traffic through Atl.

 

....that would be alot of runs.. :}

but was there an event the next nite? If there's no major event on the 17th, then I'll probably show up too.

Yeah the only reason he only got 10 in is because we got there late and as soon as we did get there an old school chevy cracked his head and spewed coolent all over the track and they had to clean it up.

I'm def. going down on the 16th even if I don't get the new tires by then (god forbid) cause my friend said that I could use his stockers for the night.

 

okay, so what, do we wanna have a get together for this? Would it be a good idea to meet up at a way-point on the south perimeter and then head there together?

 

Well like I said: I don't really care who else goes but it would be cool to finally meet some of you. There was not a single Suby there and only one Evo (which broke its shift fork and was stuck in second on its first run). I am going to be rolling down there after I got out of class at like 2:50 and will probably eat somewhere around Macon.

Directions for those who want them:
Take 75S to exit 149. Rake a right onto hwy 49 going south. Road dead ends (into hwy 62? I think thats it) but you can't really miss a dead end haha. Turn left at the dead end and when you see Silver Dollar Raceway on the left then that should be a good clue that you are on the right road.

It does take quite some time to get there from the Atl but it is waaaay better that Commerse IMO.

Well I will be heading down tomorrow around 3pm if it is not raining (damnit). If anyone heads down there then look for a Midnight Blue Pearl bugeye with gold rims that will hopefully be in the 12's :fingerscrossed:
