Single side jack point

Is there a single jack point on the side that I can use on the car to rotate my wheels? Lift up one side. I just want to do a front to back rotate and don't have any jack stands. I have a floor jack. I guess I could use the one that is in the tire change kit along wtih the floor jack, but I really don't want to fool with that.

I just use the pinch welds with my rolling jack to change tires for racing and rotating. I've bent my pinch welds already, so I really don't care about it. Also, there is no need for jackstands to rotate wheels, you aren't getting under the car. If you look underneath where the jacking spot is for the OE jack (the pinch welds), look a little more to the center of the car. There should be a thick crossmember with one large (probably 17mm bolt) bolt. Jack there, but not on the bolt. Just keep jacking until the rear wheel goes in the air. Just keep checking to make sure you aren't bending anything while jacking. It helps to have a stiffer suspension to get one side up like you want.

Well if I am going to do my exhaust here in the near future I should just get some jack stands...

Oh definitely. 2 stands are great, 4 stands are even better. You don't have to get the largest stands possible, the 3ton stands are more than sufficient.

That's whats nice about my truck. It has a frame that I can jack pretty much anywhere on.

just a side note: if you're not going to use that "center" point (i' haven't i'm guessing it's under the b-pillar?) and you're not going to use the stock scissor jack, then jack just ahead of (for the front) or just behind (rear) the scissor jack points to preserve the scissor points (for roadside emergency stuff).

I can always just rip a slot in a 2x4 so it will not hurt the pinch welds and I can use the floor jack.

^^ that could work. I was looking for a metal block that looked like a big C to fit the pinch weld in that could be used with a rolling jack, but I could never find one on the internet.

Wooden blocks are used frequently in the racing business... I have good stockpile of them for different types of cars ;)

To be hones though, I just use the jacking point behind my front wheels and the whole side of the car lifts, front and rear wheel. No need for a center jacking point. ;)

Well I rotated the wheels tonight. I used the floor jack to lift the rear from under the pumpkin. I then used the OE jack to lift each front side. It took me 10 minutes total.

Sweet, just keep stocking up on the tools. You will never have to pay for a mechanic again...

In my other hobby, woodworking, that is my catch phrase. A buddy will ask if I some special tool, and my response is always "Not yet." Give me an excuse to buy more.

"But honey, Joe needed to borrow a new Delta Unisaw and I knew I would eventually need one so I went ahead and spent the $2000 now. Think of it as saving $2000 in the future..." <Smack!!!>

Nice, I have seen that before somewhere... They could have found a cleaner/nicer car to do a picture with.

haha... that's almost the same thing I tell my wife when I buy new tools. More often then not the "Smack" is included too.

The nice thing is that she realizes that I actually save money by being able to do most of the stuff myself without having to call someone in to do it.

Yea mine looks at it as money not spent. She still doesn't appreciate how much I have saved sometimes. She is the type that would rather pay for inconvenience. I just replaced the clutch in my truck and it took me 2 weeks working on and off and about $600. I could have paid $1200 for someone to do it but I didn't care if it was down for a couple weeks and wanted to give it a try actually. Oh well. I don't bicker at her cloths shopping every weekend with her sister... So she rarely bickers at me, except when she sees all the money spent at HD...
