    i posted this on nasioc
this is quite embarassing so please don't flame me to hard. lately i've been looking at buying houses and on eof the houses i was looking at i was told (by the realestate co.) had a steep drive way . i pulled up the slab from the street (which was probably 15degrees) and could see over my hood the drive way at the bottom of a hill going around behind the house. but guess what , it was just a wide walkway. long story short, my car was left hanging off the end of a concrete slab about 2 1/2 feet. the rear was on the slab with the front tires hanging off and my first thought was "oh crap... reverse" but it caught the sub frame or U brace on the lip of the slab. ended up using a fast jack with a cinderblock on top of it to jack the car up and throw together some wooden "bridges" out of scrap around the house and then backed the car out of danger. but today i got my car on ramps and noticed that on the passenger side of the U brace in the middle of the car ,the two 14 mm bolts where coming out so i took them out, removed the u brace and replaced them. low and behold they went in at an angle. not just one angle buut two different angles. the bolt at the end of the brace goes towards the very center of the car and the other towards the front of the car, instead of straight up. every thing else in the Ubrace lines up fine and bolts right into place. so i guess what i'm asking is, did i bend the frame?

no if you notice in the picture that is without the u brace in place so you can see how the bolts are going in.

That is what it looks like to me...Prolly can screw them in 60% and beat them back straight with a rubba mallot. Then it is time for M1 Chromolly X-brace!

I thought you were going to keep the story off the internet, otherwise I would have taken a lot of pics of it that night. Its amazing what a couple rhino ramps, cinder blocks, and a jack can do . . .

when you were removing the bolts were they coming out at an angle, if not, i wouldnt think that the fram is bent. When i pulled my tranny i did notice that the bolt can go in crooked.
