See if you can tell by looking what's unique about these tires.

(And BTW I'm sure they're not 100%, totally unique as in never been done before)

I agree, I was trying to look for lettering to see what kind of tires they were, no wonder I couldn't tell! I just though I was going blind!

They have a little cut out in the lip of the tire (not wheel) and a fat tire lip (not wheel) as well?

  10. Maybe its the angle, but they look much taller than stock sized. they really fill the wheel well from the cameras perspective.

I've got the Fuzion's also...How do you like them?. They are noisy as anything...My next tire is definitely going to be the Kumho Ecsta MX.

    LOL!

Sorry guys. I didn't mean to just keep ya guessing. But yeah it's that they're taller than stock size like someone said. They're 245/45/17's. They do fill that wheel well pretty well too huh! I'm going to have to raise the car about a half inch to an inch now because they rub just the tiniest bit on just the right angle.

As for the Fusion ZRI... I'm sold man. They work great in the wet and dry, for a fairly hard compound tire that is. Noisey, yeah, but hey... it's a WRX not a Crown Vic. It's not supposed to be all cushy and quiet.

man i blew through my Fuzion ZRi's in less than 20,000 miles only doing daily driving. No tracking or autocrossing whatsoever....

Really? It took me nearly 30,000 and that's with a several good mountain runs. Of course heat, rough roads and other road conditions contribute. A lot of my driving is at slow speeds because too.

so are you getting your speedo recalibrated or is the difference not that great?

Well I think I could do it with EcuExplorer but it really isn't that big of a difference IMO. It's only going to make appear to be going faster anyway right??? That is a good thing for me!

I'm thinking it would read slower. That is if it measures at the axle. Since the overall diameter is larger it takes less rotations of the wheel/tire to cover a certain amount of ground. Therefore, if the speedometer reads by rotations it would represent less ground covered than you are actually covering.

Or at least that's my reasoning :)

So the fact that the tire is basically spinning more, since a greater circumfrence goes farther does nothing to up the speed of the center of the wheel?

Let me think about it... Ok yeah you're right. But I think the difference would still be small enough that it isn't worth recalibrating it now and then again later when I go back to the OE spec.

    245/45/17? Thought so.

They are a bit taller, but its OK. I think they look better. Hey, the stis are 3mph off anyways lol.

Can I ask why you went to a taller tire? Fuel economy reasons? Want that SUV look?

You always hear about people putting on shorter tires to better their overall gearing, not the opposite except for crazy people trying to max out their mpg by minimizing engine revs at speed.
