Registration is open for Points 2 (4/1) and the DDP (3/31). If you want to run you will need to pre-register and prepay for event. The DDP (Driver Development Program) is school/test n tune aimed at autoxers looking to compete at divisional and national levels (ie getting it done in three runs). If you are new to autox and want some seat time I would suggest coming out the the Novice School on 4/21. That was from last year so the format and price may change.
I will be there. It looks like we have to paypal now before we can register. I am waiting for my new SCCA membership numbers to come before I register, so I can get the discount. Does anyone know of a way to get the numbers faster, or how long it normally takes to get the membership card?
hey meredith. i guess i'm missing something. sunday is a regular auto-x, right? i've never had to pre-pay before, why this time?
Sunday is a regular autoX, and they are switching over to a pre-pay system for the rest of the events of the season. -- Brian
im registered too... however, depending on how my work goes this week, i might not be able to make it
I asked this earlier, but nobody seemed to answer it. Does anyone know when we will get our SCCA membership cards? Or if there is a way to look up your member number for registration this weekend?
Yeah, you can print it out from the SCCA website. I renewed my membership last summer and have yet to get a new card...
I just registered for Sunday without paying - Am I on the right registration site? I thought you guys said we have to pre-pay
From the looks of it, there isn't much of a crowd going. Am I correct in only seeing 35ish people? Dang! That would've been a great chance to snag a few more points. Should be a great event. Have fun.
Maybe you are looking at the DDP, which only has about 35 people. Right now there are 10 people in AS for sunday, and I am the only one running r-comps .
No, there is like a 192 registrants that I saw. It looks like we are giong to have thunderstorms Sunday from morning until afternoon. I guess we will just have to keep watching the weater.
Its the ultimate neutralizer if you have driven in it before. We have had many aquax's at Clemson. R comps can be fun to dance around it.
Nope, haven't had a chance to drive on a really rainy day yet in the Subaru. My old Miata, yes, but nothing with AWD...
Jay decided to buy a EVO after he drove my STi on r-comps in pouring rain at the Dixie Axis versus Allies event. Even after the day started to dry up, nobody could be his raw time in the wet. I was cold and wet but driving in the pouring rain was more fun than the usually hot as ass atlanta day.
It looks like thunderstorms throughout the morning and afternoon, which most likely means I will not be there. I don't want to drive 2 hours for that mess. I will keep checking the weather though.
If anyone running the morning session can PM me their phone # - I'd like to check how things are running with the morning session before coming. thanks
Looks like this afternoon is going to be interesting. According to weather.com: numerous thunderstorms, some severe, 90% chance of precip. :hs:
im at work right now so im def out, plus a ton of school work to do later. have fun sliding around if it rains!
i really wish i could make it... but from the looks of it, i'll probably be working pretty much non stop for a couple days
You guys missed drift fest in the rain! So much fun! Thanks again for helping me pack up Eric. Clay sorry I didn't get any rides with you, make sure you sign up for the novice school on the 4/21 (you can either get brian or I as your instructors )
I'll admit, I was leary of the rain and had some jitters, but they subsided after my first run. This was my second event and I had yet another blast. The course was fast and the rain made things interesting. Scott, great seeing you out there man. :bigthumb: No worries, Mere. We'll catch up at the next event which actually for me will be Points #4, as I'll be out of town. This means I also miss the Novice school...big bummer. :thumbsdow Blah. ^^ +1 Mere was cooking out there. Way to represent the Subies.
Sorry I couldn't make it out today due to allergies and sinus headaches. I put together the wrxatl results from the pre-preliminary results that were posted: -- Brian
Today was NOT a good day for me. DNF'd 3 times. I just couldn't get it together. Whats bizarre is, I asked Patrick to ride with me once which turned out to be my only clean run, and he didn't even point the way out, just mildly suggested I stop bouncing my engine off the rev limiter...Oh, and thanks to Patrick for taking the time to ride with me!
i had a blast. I got to drive when the course was fairly dry but watching the rest of the crew drifto around the corners was fun too. I am sure i could have had a 42 had i not screwed up the last sweeper and plowed...well that's what the novice training is for eh? It was good to see everyone that was out today. See y'all again next time oh and thanks for the wrx listing brian p.s. i know that girl at the end handed me a 45.678 but whatever, tis only a postit note
no problem meredith. I had it easy since I left the race rubber at home. I also was lucky and got to work control for the afternoon. The M3 drift taxi looked fun. The drive home took forever since 985 was completely shut down due to a huge wreck.
