UPDATE: OK, this year they've changed the participant pass from $30 to $50. A $50 participant pass is good for all three days and is purchased at the ticket booth upon entering the track. One you buy the pass, you will proceed to the tower on pit road for registration. They just want your name, vehicle, and where your from for their own stats. (There will be directional signs telling you where to go if your unfamiliar with Road Atlanta) Here is an incar video from one of the instructors, so you can use this as your course walk-through. http://media.yearone.com/yoex/ra%20AutoX.wmv
well that plus the drift is about 70ish. Which isn't a problem, I've got well over that. It's just I'm saving for something big that I really want payed at the end of may, and it's gotten tighter than was planned. However I'd say I'm still going to be there unless something happens in the next month or so.
ill be up there starting from the 15th...we should start the party from then lol...any other events/meets going on during that week?
I'm planning on being there at some point too. Is there a schedule for this that I missed? I have to work on Friday (especially since I'm playing hooky the next Friday for the track day), but I really want to hit some cones.
if anyone is on RCE springs or prodrives (mated to KYB, tokico, or sti inverted strut-on a wrx), please let me know because i would like to ride shotgun and see what would be a good set up for me! please PM me and let me know guys. thanks.
FYI most of the time a good street setup is not a good autox setup and vice versa. I can barely drive around in brian's csp crx or my own STi when the shock are set to my autox settings.
I have prodrives on stock struts. if you'd like a ride lmk. The struts are a bit underdampened (sp?) for the springs, but it still makes for a decent ride on the street and for the occasional autox.
Ive got prodrives mated with D-specs, and ill be glad to give you a ride ... im not sure which days ill be there, but i'll post up as it gets closer.
ok, looks like i will definatly be there for this. i won't make it on friday, but i will be around on sat. and sun. sending you a PM greg.
Here is a little more info/update from YearOne: There’s one overriding element of the YearOne Experience – and that is having fun with cars. One way to enjoy the experience, so to speak, is by challenging yourself on the autocross course. We’ve teamed up with the Panoz Racing School to offer two different autocross courses during the 2007 YearOne Experience. First up is the dry autocross course. The tight and twisty dry course will challenge your vehicle and driving ability equally. Speeds are kept low, but the adrenaline rush will certainly be off the charts as you snake around the course trying to set a low time. Panoz Racing School instructors will be on hand to offer advice and hints on how best to complete the runs. And if you try a little too hard and lose control of your car, don’t worry. There’s nothing to hit! The second autocross offering is a special wet course designed by the Panoz Racing School. The wet course is tackled in Audi Driving Experience school cars (you don’t want to subject your vehicle to the harsh conditions on the wet course), and like the dry course Panoz Racing School instructors will be on hand to help you negotiate the challenging course in the least amount of time possible. Both autocross courses are free to registered participants of the YearOne Experience – so be sure to have some fun sliding around in a safe and controlled environment! And here is the 0-60-0 competition that I think someone on here should win!- Once again Stainless Steel Brakes Corp (SSBC) will be presenting one of the most popular YearOne Experience competitions – the SSBC 0-60-0 Challenge. This competition will measure how long it takes a participant's vehicle to accelerate from a stop to 60, and then return to a complete stop. The challenge rewards both good driving – it takes skill to accelerate smoothly and quickly to 60 mph and stop again in the shortest distance possible – as well as vehicle performance. The SSBC 0-60-0 Challenge is open to anyone who wishes to participate, and prizes will be awarded to the first and second place competitors. The SSBC 0-60-0 Challenge will take place at the Road Atlanta facility on Saturday and Sunday. Participants in the SSBC 0-60-0 Challenge must be licensed drivers in vehicles deemed safe enough for the competition.
damnit, looks like I will not be going after all. It's not monetary, rather I'm graduating on the 18th. That wouldn't be a problem except that I have people coming down, so for Sat I will have to stay with them. Just not worth it to me to pay 50 bucks for Sunday. I probably wouldn't have autocrossed anyway(I know the limits of my car), but I would have liked to have gone. Seems there is going to be a real nice turnout this year! Someone take some good pics!
I'm so freakin dissappointed that I won't be able to make it to this. Do a few extra runs for me.
i'll be there on sunday to show james how to drive. come get yo freaking sticker i made fo yo azz. and bring money. lol
Show ME how to drive....? I've got a little something for ya Be ready to have your ass handed to you I got a call from Johnny O'Connell and he won't be able to make it after all... Something about a race in Salt Lake City or something... who knows And he also said that hes gonna save me a seat on the plane to go work Le Mans with him this year! Score!
Ashley25 is too preggers to race...and I have to work Friday and Saturday...so I wont be out there at all.
hey, i'm reading the site, and it looks like you can't do track racing if you're not a "registered Track Day participants only" looks like no-one can do those anymore... http://www.yearone.com/Events/TYOE/Activity+Information/Track+Day/default.aspx
Thats for a track day on the 'big track'. We're on the autocross course by the skid pad at turns 6 and 7. Its in the infield

I Will Only Be Able To Make It Out On Sunday. My Brother Decided To Have His B-day Party On Saterday At 3. Family Comes First.
Anyone going to be there friday morning? I plan on making some good times that morning when the air is cool
I work Friday, will be there Saturday Morning, meeting the Caravan at Discovery Mills, and Sunday is up in the air. Caravan info here: http://www.wrxatlanta.com/forums/showthread.php?t=13361
At what time on friday and saturday can you head up there for the auto X, those would be the only 2 days I would be able to hit that up, and it definitely sound like i might actually be able to do so. Priest
Hi Guys, My STi is still at Top Speed (for over 6 weeks now - :thumbsdow :thumbsdow ) i was dying to improve my AX technic in those 3 days. 2 questions: Do you guys know if there is a risk getting a rented car there? Can anyone pass through alpharetta to pick me up for Friday?
