Registration for the annual Atlanta Region autox novice school is open.

If you are interested I would suggest signing up soon as this event is capped to 50 drivers.

Don't worry about classing your car right now, this is just a instructional day. If you want to run the in points event the following day you can still register as a novice (or in Novice class). However after two events running novice you must move to class (the novice school counts as a event). If you have a legacy with mods its most likely going to be in FSP.

There no novice school in august, only the Driver Development Program. Since it's in august it's most likely going to be open first to people attending solo national championship the following month. Here's Heyward's description of the DDP:

  9. Yay, i'm in. Only one running FSP if that matters at all.

Anyone from here there? I see BelvnAWD, model type "WRXATL"? hehe, see you there. My friend in his 350Z will be there to...

If you end up running more events you will want to type "WRXATL" in your model slot so that you can compete in the WRXAtlanta Challenge during the season...Well set up 350's are surprisingly fast!

  11. First time doing anything, won't be close winning that WRXATL thing, but i'll change it when I think I can drive well.

Ya, his is stock though, but still, its a very good car.

Meredith will win every year for the foreseeable future anyways. But you'd be surprised how well you might do with enough events under your belt...

The rx8 has been the "car to have" for b stock, however I do believe a 350 made it into the top five at nationals. I don't know how much longer I will run open A stock, I am thinking about making the move to running Pro class at local events, I cannot compete in the challenge while running Pro class.

If you are talking about what i think you are, I don't think I'll be able to participate due to a COI. However I do have ninja skills, magic skills, nun-chuck skills.......

Maybe I don't know what either of you are referring to, but I don't see how there could possibly be a COI.

I hate posting after one of my previous posts, but wanted to bump this thread back up. I had a blast at the Novice School. Probably the best $40 I have ever spent on a driving event. I got more runs than I could keep track of (at least 15 or so) on the small, but fast course that was set up. HUGE PROPS to Meredith and Brian for taking the time to ride with me, set up my car, give me pointers, Etc. They were invaluable in me maximizing the school experience and it showed the next day at the autocross. I didn't run as fast as I would have liked, but I was definitely much improved from the first event. My car feels alot different with the adjustments Meredith suggested, so I will need to get used to it again when on course. I would highly recommend the school for everyone, skilled or no. Thanks again Brian and Meredith!!!

Shhhh now the secret is out! Scott you had the autoxing basics down already, you just needed some adjustments in your car setup. I'm sure you are going to see some big gains in your times especially since your car is the "it" car for STX.
