I've been auto-x'ing and tracking my current street tires for a while now, and I think it's time to replace them. I have three extra Falken FK-451's in my garage that I got from JJang12 when I bought his wheels, but I need a fourth tire.

Anyway, I looked online and the cheapest price was on discountedwheelwarehouse.com, for $86. Does anyone know how credible this site is, or should I look elsewhere?

Becareful buying 1 tire. It'll be worn differently than a new one and wears/breaks your differential.

Then what do you suggest? Buy two tires and have olds on the rear and news on the front?

Just an FYI... Discount tire on Hwy. 9(Alpharetta hwy) near Mansell will pricematch internet prices...

that would strain the center diff... i'd go with all new or make sure they all have very similar tread (i forget the exact tolerance)

You could always take the new tire to like Gran Turismo East and let them shave it down so it matches the rest, and does not cause havoc on the Center Diff.

Just a question, but how much damage could really be done to the center diff by a small difference in tire tread? And by that logic, if one of my tires gets a little low on air wouldnt this put the same stress on the center diff that a new tire would?

I drove my car with 4 different types of tires for a couple of months... But i don't recommend you do that.

I can tell from the decel sound from my center diff if I need air in my tires. Its a lot louder when the pressures are not right.

Thanks for the input guys. Just how much $ would GTE quote me to possibly shave a tire? I'm considering just buying new tires if it's gonna be expensive.

I have no idea what it'd cost to shave a tire. Call them and ask.

One more question... If I wanted new tires, what size would you all recommend? I have Rota SDR 17"x7.5". Should I stay with the 225/45/17 or could I possibly go wider to a 245/45/17?

You could prolly fit a 235 but the sides are gonna start to bulge out and handling will be affected....

    i think it's within a few 32nds of eachother. (.09375)

I would go 225/45/17 on a 17x7.5. Any wider and you end up with bulging sidewalls.
