what's the best way to remove the o2 sensor from the exhaust manifold. my o2 socket is a crows foot, im not sure if anyone else has a better method . the crows foot seems to want to migrate off.

Go to Autozone/Advanced Auto. THey have O2 sensor removal loaner-tools.
It's like a socket that's split on one side for the sensor wire. Makes it very easy to take out.
Make sure to disconnect the sensor wire from the plug connector so you don't damage the wires while
    twisting the sensor itself out.

i got the socket but it seems to line up behind the chasis and i am afraid if i push it off axis that i'll round out the bolt

Yeah, teh kit I get has 3 different sockets in it. One being a low, not so tall one that gets in there nicely.

Hopefully you've not rounded it off. You'vew taken the wheel off and the inner liner out correct?

You can also cut a small notch in the heatshield so that you'll be able to remove it without removing the sensor at all (assuming that's why you need to remove the sensor). This may be necessary if the sensor is indeed stripped out.

I always notch the heatshield. It makes life easier down the road.

+1 agreed. I just do it after the sensor's out of the way. I don't want to buy anyone a $180 sensor.

rounded two corners on the sensor and just pulled a full reverse, running out of daylight had to work in the morning, but all is not lost. i threw on some silicone intercooler hoses that alex#2 gave me on my way backwards.
