Ok maybe the title is a bit dramatic, but I can't help but notice that my car is smelling like really strong exhaust and I can smell it from inside the cabin. Almost like it's running rich(not sure if that makes sense to anyone). My GF always complains about the strong smell when she gets out the car when we travel for more than like 15-20mins. Didn't really notice a smell until I came back from getting my oil change at SoG(not blaming them,BTW).

I have a UP, Snorkus Delete, and turbo-back, not catted(could this be the prob). I am not tuned, nor do I have any tuning devices. Oh, I am also bout ~1000miles over on my 60K service.

Anyone else had this problem or could possibly help with any suggestions to fix it?

    Thanks

Rob...that is exactly the problem dude. I am cattless too and can smell the gas when the windows are down, or I get outta the car. Get a catted dp and you won't smell it anymore, call it day.

It wasn't doing that at first Shane. I've had that setup for like a month and this is the first time I've smelled anything like that. It's not enough to REALLY bother me, I just know cars have a way of trying to warn you before the sh!t hits the fan and I was just making sure I was listening.

    Thanks for the advice man

Can someone chime in on this? From my experience, I immediately smelt gas once I went catless, and got some info from a credible source (tuner) that it was because of my catless dp. Also, the question has been raised numerous times with many responses as I have said. However, if you didn't smell it before, but now you do?...that is a new one. Anyone have any other ideas??? I'm assuming it's not throwing any codes since you didn't mention that.hmm

I dunno, Im catless. On the startup its stinky, otherwise I smell nothing. Maybe you have a small exhaust leak under the cabin?

If it's a burning smell, check to see if the AC condensation dump line is burning up against the downpipe.

I think my DP is doing that. Also I need someone to drive/ride in my car and tell me if it sounds like an exhaust leak.

My smell is there a little to much:eek:hnoes:

Well, you can turn on the car and lay beside it. Run your hands along the flanges and see if you feel anything.

Yes this is a good method...obviously do it on a cold start in the morning etc. but you should be able to feel and air that is pulsing out.

You could use soapy water as well.

Mine did the same thing...went about 6000 miles and then I noticed the smell here lately. My guess, and what I think is causing mine, is a small leak in the exhaust. I found one on mine. But I used a questionable gasket that I bought online from the guy that sold me the pipe. I have heard there are some good gaskets out there that seal totally.
