I'm went from this tranny(Stock RS):
    1st - 3.545 2nd - 2.111 3rd - 1.448 4th - 1.088 5th - 0.780 Final Drive: 4.111

To this(RS case with sti RA gearset):
    1st - 3.166 2nd - 1.882 3rd - 1.296 4th - 0.972 5th - 0.738 Final Drive: 4.111

    Stock WRX for comparison
    1st - 3.454 2nd - 1.947 3rd - 1.366 4th - 0.972 5th - 0.738 Final Drive: 3.90

Essentially every single gear is now longer. It's amazing. New OBX front helical LSD, ACT Heavyduty pressure plate, lightweight flywheel, tranny bushings, groupN tranny mount, new braided clutch line, groupN pitch mount, and new sensors.

I chose this transmission setup because it'll be quite strong, minimal install issues, and a good price. This is my stock 4.11 RS tranny with sti RA gears. The tranny was rebuilt with new syncros and all that stuff internally. The gearset was triple-shotpeened by Miami Shot Peen. Will(WJM) installed an OBX front helical limited-slip differential.

After getting it back it was an AMAZING difference. My old 1st gear was only good for getting the car moving so I could shift into 2nd. The new mounts and bushings eliminated most of the movement from the tranny and provided a very crisp shift feel. I already had the full kartboy inventory of shifter bushings in my car so this helped out a lot.

The OBX lsd dramatically changed the handling of my car. I can get on the power in and out of turns sooner. It feels like the diff is literally pullling my car through a turn. It eliminated some of the early understeer through a really fast and sharp turn. It feels like my car can be pushed a lot farther to reach its limit.

And of course, all this could not have been done without our resident subaru genius, Will (WJM).

Side note I will now have much better gas mileage in the city and highway. YAY!

Hey your car is getting newer and newer!!! That should match nicely to a turbo conversion!

Thanks guys. This is all in prep for a turbo conversion down the road. I wanted the make sure that nothing would break and put me out of commission for a while. Besides no point in power if I can't transfer it to the ground, stop it, or control the vehicle. So tranny, brakes, and suspension first.

haha not for a while. This tranny has made driving this car a totally different driving experience. It'll keep that mod itch away for some time.

Cost lil over $900 because the guy I bought it from decided to switch routes and went 07 6speed. Just go on rs25.com and buy a jdm wrx/sti box. Ra width gears, 4.11 final drive, oem build quality.

Yeah 1st tops out at 30+ mph.

I would come to the autox on sat but I'm working a double. I'm hoping to have a new set of tires by the Road Atlanta autox to really push my car to the limit.
