i have two options for the uppipe mod i have been thinking about, and my two options are:
    1) used 05 sti uppipe for $45 and +$25 for gaskets.. or
    2) new EBAY full flex uppipe for $38+$30 for shipping, but this one includes all the gaskets and bolts.

I think the advantage of the sti up is that it will be a direct fitment so the install would be pretty easy. the advantage for the ebay up is that it is a flex design (even though i wont be upgrading a turbo, you never know :eek:hnoes: ), and all the gaskets and bolts will be included. It's just that the ebay one might not be so easy to get it installed.

here is a link to the ebay UP: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ih=011&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWA%3AIT&viewitem=&item=320098797260&rd=1,1

if you guys have had any experience with this ebay up, please let me know. thanks!

Even if you get an ebay up, buy Subaru gaskets for it.

I'd buy the used STi up. No worries with that one.

hehehe yea, i`m not looking to buy an ebay up, i was just confused for a second that sti up wasnt a flex design, and i was just looking around for other options. i mean, where in the world am i going to get an UP that will be a oem fit and work out perfectly for $45?

hey guys, unfortunately the sti uppipe i have been waiting on is not on sale anymore, so i`m considering buying moose's stocker and gutting it. the problem is, i have NO clue on how to gut anything, and i think i also want it ceramic coated if the price isnt so bad. how much would people charge me if they gutted the stocker for me?

I don't know how easy it is to ceramic coat a flex uppipe (which the stocker is). Gutting it is just hacking up the cat as much as possible and then running some wire wheel or similar through it until everything's nice and clean. Not difficult, just takes a while.

  10. I have had an ebay up with flex section for a while now. No issues, no leaks. Original leak was caused by it not being torqued down correctly.

Get the ebay ERZ uppipe. It's on my car right now along with the ERZ downpipe. Can't say much about that if you know my history....
