i got my new tranny in today. well not new but new to me. this is the one that was pointed out by someone on here, not sure who tho, sorry. it was the one WRX R/A set with the 4:11 gears in it. the thing about it is when i cut the car off, theres a poping sound coming from what i think is the clutch. also at low speeds there is a poping sound coming from the front end only. i know this probably doesnt help figure anything out, but has any one had this happen to them?

    thanks for any help.

    -William...

p.s. the tranny works fine, i cant find any problems with the way it shifts or anything like that. its just the poping thats got me.

Bought it from Supermoose? It was probably me.

I'm not sure what those sounds are but I'm glad you're happy with it.

Actually now that I think about it he might've gotten a clutch type rear lsd. Try contacting supermoose and asking him about it. If it is a lsd then that's what the clicking is.

well i got out last night with some friends and got to thinking about it, and i think it could be the spring mounts on the struts. we had to twist the strut to get the axles out. i had this same problem when i did the rear springs, had to take them out twice to get them to set right in the mounts.

    -William...

ill find out from supermoose about the front clutch type LSD?

i wanted to add this one to, should be a simple fix. im just not sure how to do it.

the shift nob dose not stay in place, like it moves to easy left to right. any thing i can do under the car?

    -William...

p.s. this sucks during shifting from 2nd to 3rd.

ok, this is lose inside the tranny, i can turn the nob by hand the distance it dose from inside the car from where 1st and 2nd are to where 3rd and 4th are at. and the linkage is turning the stem going inside the tranny.

    -William...

still dont see anything lose under the car. im probably going to run it up to SOG and have the pros take care of it.

Wes, did you sell that tranny already? Not to take business away from SOG but if it is the shifter bushings, Kartboy replacements are $30 from SOG and take 20 mins to install. Then again WJM has a kid on the way and needs money.
