Recently, I switched from Axxis Ultimate to Carbotech XP10 (track) & Bobcat (Street) combo. Since then, I get clunking sound and feel whenever I reverse my car. It feels like the edge of brake pads hitting the slotted section on the rotor. I never had this problem before with Axxis pads. As reference, I have Stoptech BBK in the front and stock setup in the back.
The pads shift in the caliper. When you reverse, they move and you hear them. Nothing out of the ordinary.
If its only when you go into reverse then I agree with Trey its pad shift. If you are doing most of youre driving on the street ditch the slotted rotors you don't need them all they do is eat pads faster.
Yes, I did. I followed Carbotech's recommendation. I think that pad shift does make sense. but it does feel like something will break. hnoes: If I get to spend more time on track, I will get 2nd pair of dedicated rotors for track. but till then, I have to stick with what I have.
