i think the wire that hooks up my AP to the port under the steering wheel is broken... i`m not asking if i can borrow the whole AP (cuz that would be silly and it wont do anything), i`m trying to see if it is really broken, because apparently, even with the white and the green connectors hooked up (and the car starts the fans and goes in test mode), it wont reflash... like, i would switch the current map to stage 2 93 octane map (and i have the DP/UP installed), it will say done, and when i go check the current map, it says stage 1?????????????????????? wth.. i`m gonna go check the manual one more time to see if i`m doing something wrong in the procedures, because it seems like everyone has a different way to reflash haha. but if you have a v.1.0 and live around the suwanee area, HELP!

You're not switching realtime maps are you? The AP (1.0) will only display the base map loaded.

what do you mean? and excuse my bluntness cuz i am a total newb at this.. as far as the maps, i`m only switching to the one shown on the list of the AP.

yea i know.. but last time i figured it was because i didnt have my uppipe installed and i thought the AP somehow knew that and wouldnt let me reflash... it turns out that is not the case because it only requires a DP, and now i`m freaking out because it might be broken. i`m gonna go ahead and read the manual on how to reflash so that i dont make a fool of myself once i figure it out.

Trust me, the AP doesn't know whether you have an uppipe or not. If you reflash with a real time map (you don't need the connectors for this) it'll still show whichever base map you used.

You can borrow my cable if you want to come get it.... I was having similar issues though when I bought a used AP and Cobb had to replace the guts(basically replacing the whole thing)... But, Christian from Cobb did tell me to try a different cable to rule that out as a possible cause at first... Let me know..

aite, i connected the green connectors and the white ones, and then i tried to change the base map. (my previous mistake was that i went to #1 switch current map, not the #4 change base map). now, i`m stuck at, 'turn the car off and on' and press ok' part... it says, error, please try again. grrrrr! i turned it off and put it back on the 'on' position and pressed ok, and it wont let me do it.. wth. someone told me i should do it fast, so i did it quickly, no luck, i did it slowly, no luck, and instead of putting the key on the 'on' switch, i turned the car on, and still no luck....

    any idea moose?

when a cable is broken, does everything else work (like reading live boost, etc)? cuz mine seems to do everything else except switching the base map...

You can get all the cables at radio shack. That is what I had to do, that way you have your own set to change maps whenever. They are just standard 9-pin communication cables. You may have to get a sex changer depending on the cables available at your radio shack. You should be able to get it though for less than $20.
