My brakes suck. Like, hardcore. It's a chore to stop and I have way too many close calls. Time to get new brakes, or just time to do something else?
how much do you want to spend? I just installed a stage 2 kit: rotors, pads, lines, and fluid. I am very satisfied! (costs about 600 NIB) Or you could go stage 1: above w/out rotors for about 300.
Did you try flushing your fluid, upgrading your pads and upgrading your lines first? I have no idea what fits on the older legacys, WJM would though.
When was the last time you bled your brakes? Are you hearing any squeeling? Are you getting a lot of vibrations in the brake pedal? At the bare minimum, go with pads and fluid, lines if you have the extra cash, and rotors if you want to go all out. Hawks and Carbotechs are the most preferred pads on here. Goodridge lines are good SS lines. Just make sure the fluid is at least DOT3/4.
What do you mean the the cars totaled!?.....:eek3: You jast got it didn't you. You can't leave use hangin like that....... What happened?
So the car was totaled so the brakes could be replaced? There are easier ways of getting it done... Hope you are OK.
Wow. Those brakes must not of worked that great if you totalled it that fast. Is that a record for getting a new car and totalling it?
Haha, well, see, it was a 93, and it was my dad's. I've been driving it for a few years, but it was just about to OFFICIALLY be mine. I was making a left turn last night, and a drunk driver runs a red and slams into my front end. I wasn't seriously injured, but my friend Erin was hospitalized. I'll post pictures of the body later. It was some of the most epic damage I've ever seen to a car. I've been really angry about a few aspects...if any of you guys hang out at importatlanta you'll see the post about the great police work that was done here. I'm absolutely furious. I loved that car, too. So many good memories -sniff- Oh well. If she had sexy aftermarket brakes on her minivan, maybe she would have made an effort to stop instead of accelerating through the red. This is NOT how I planned to spend my 18th birthday, which is today. Bleah. Thanks for the concern, everyone! EDIT: Erin was discharged at around 2 this morning, I was with her the whole time - she's going to be fine.
It's GREAT to hear that you and your friend made it out of this (eventually). You can be glad that you've both walked away with your lives, which normally doesn't happen when a drunk driver is involved.
yeah. The drunk driver is suing me, by the way. IS THIS WHAT BEING 18 FEELS LIKE? Because I wanna go back to yesterday and be 17 again.
I'm glad to hear you are ok. Did the police come out and make a report? If they did, I can't se how the other driver has any grounds for a suit.
