I'm new to Metro Atlanta and was wondering about E-Checks... I have a 2005 STI Stage 2 Catless w/AP and was wondering since it was an OBDII if they just scanned the car and passed based off no lights. I know that I called an E place from the Clean Air site and they said that all they do is scan it, no visual or sniff? Can anyone verifiy that? (That lives in Metro Atlanta) Thanks Guys!!! I want to get tuned at SOG but I'm afraid I may have to go back to stock; therefore a waste of money~
the test for an Obd2 car (1996 to present) is a check engine light /gas cap test. Just make sure that you have not unhooked your battery or cleared your codes right before you get tested or you will fail.(and yes I am an Georgia emissions certified tester).
I'll drive to Marietta and give you some business *wink, wink* Thanks for the info guys = ) ...and the welcome!!!
ALSO, I did hear about a year ago that GA was thinking about going to a visual on OBD11 cars... I guessit never happened though... yeah = )
if your car is an '05, then you don't have to get sniffed until next year, so go get tuned...you have a whole year to figure it out
if GA tries to get funny, being military i'll change to new mexico because they don't check for shat.
So get tuned and not worry about it right? = ) Since I have an AP... Would like to hear some more feedback if possible on personal exps... Thanks again guys!
If anybody knows a friendly place please PM me! Also, does anyone else have any exp. with metro Atl. E-Checks??? Roswell/Fulton/Dunwoody/Gwinnett etc? Thanks!!!
