FreeData Logging Tools

So I wanna take some data from my car, and I was wondering if there was an easy way to do this.

I have a cobb v2 obd2/usb connector and a laptop. Is there a free software I can use to take a look at what my car is doing?

I don't want to go all 'search n00b' on you, but googling 'free subaru logger' will give you everything... as will searching for 'free logger' on this site.

 

I guess the real question was, can I use the AP v2 obd2 connector to use those free tools?

They're just bits coming out of the port.

 

but they could've been wired differently.

OK, the laptop is demanding drivers for the Cobb AP Connector cable.....hmm...where cna I find this ?

I dl'ed ecuflash and it contained the driver for it

you need to manually specify the driver.

 

if i don't have a serial port on my laptop, what cable to i need to purchase?

 

Tactrix cable is USB.

I've used the serial cable that came with my Cobb AccessPort V1 with Enginuity. If the wiring were different, it wouldn't be a serial cable.

logs wont tell you if you are running rich in OL unless you have WBO2
CL you may but its not very accurate.

 

intrawebz has a lot of shiz for data logging .. I want to get that open ecu and go down that road
