It's time for new wheels. I've narrowed down my options to these but I'd appreciate some imput. -BBS RE 18x8 [Bright Silver] -Volk CE28N 18x8.5 [Mercury/Ti Silver] -Volk TE-37 18x8.5 [Silver] I love the TE's I just really wish I could see them on a car. The 17s I have seen look hot but small, but I haven't been able to find any good pics of an STi with 18s that didn't have some weird body work or crazy effect or angle. To those who have seen these on cars in person, I would especially like your help.
Oh no, haha don't get new wheels. The SSRs are so hot. If you have to do something, powder coat them a different color or something. But...if you must, I'd say go with the CE28n
Subaru offers a rubbe lip skirt for the v-limited that goes along the bottom and A. Keeps the lip from getting scratched and B. IMHO makes it look a bit more OEM. The skirt from Subaru is between 90-120 bucks though, I made mine with rubber garage door seal and 3m automotive tape. and a blowtorch to put them together. Looks incredible in person.
I've crossed off CE28ns for this reason. I like the BBS REs because they are so rare and as for the Volk TE37s, I don't really consider those popular. They don't make an 18inch fitment for the 04s and they aren't even on many 05s, but I have spoken with Rays and they agreed to do a custom 18x8.5 with my bolt pattern and custom offset as well as a special silver for me
Big Update My Cusco Zero-2es and E-Con are finally in the country. Also I've got some lugs floating over, as well as a decent set of wheels which should be landing in the states next month. Hopefully my exhaust will be finished by then, and will make the slow boat with the wheels. Hopefully. Getting exciting to see all of this happening!
i remember when you first posted...thought u had a clean STi! btw...r u air force? i live and work in ATL, but my reporting base is Maxwell AFB. i think i'll be down there half of this week for a meeting, but i won't be taking the STi.
Thanks for the compliments! I try to put a lot of work in the car to make the mods clean, subtle, and rare. I am not air force btw. Send me a pm if you are down here and we can meet up sometime. I was living in Auburn and would come up to ATL for the weekend every month or so but now I haven't made it up in some time. When the car is more respectable in a monthish I want to come up for one of the ATL meets and have a good time.
Well the first of the new goodies came in today. Nothing really too crazy anymore I suppose, just a set of Project Kics Lugs to replace my badly worn current setup.
Well my suspension showed up yesterday evening. Took a few pics but nothing good till its actually on the car.
Thanks fellows! New wheels and exhaust get closer by the day, ordered a set of Yokohama Advan AD07 235/40/18 to give them a nice sticky home when they get here. Also trying to pick out a new license plate from FLAT-4, JDM STI [or maybe JDM GDB / JDM GDF], JDMNERD, and EJ25PWR.
Nice mods! You should bring this thing out to the Subaru Challenge and show it off to us! I always wanted to get one of those ARC induction boxes.
Well my tires are in. My exhaust comes Monday, followed in the next week or so by some equally exciting boxes of round goodness.
Well the exhaust came today. I'm freaking out, it's the most attractive part I have ever purchased. Need to get me a downpipe....did any of you guys guess who it was from? hmmmm.... oh yeah they make some okay stuff... really bad shots of the welds, it was so bright out I couldn't get anything to focus A nice tip photo And a money shot More shots are coming in the future, need a downpipe and I'm not unpacking it further till I have that.
I think you mean that its so bling you couldnt get anything to focus i thought i guess it, maybe that was on iwsti...great choice, I definately want to hear a soundclip.
For a general update, purchased and recieved a Zero/Sports Catted JDM length downpipe. Now I have everything taken care of in the way of exhaust except for heatwrap which was backordered. :squint: Should be in though round about next weekend....fingers crossed. Also my wheels are literally an any day thing now, if only someone at gruppe-s would answer the phone I could know more but I'm ready for them regardless.
